My family stayed at the Santa Maria Dec 26 through Jan 3. It is a lovely, small complex near the southernmost tip of the island and just a few blocks from Duval. The hotel is clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The complex surrounds an intimate and quiet pool area. The staff is friendly and courteous. Across the street is a small market that stays open late. We enjoyed being on this end of Duval street where it is not so hectic. Only one concern for the hotel was that we kept running out of hot water. However, we would definitely stay here again!

Chose this hotel last minute from TripAdvisor. I wasn't going to spend this money, but then decided to splash out at the last minute... and we were not disappointed.

Not at all! It was terrific. Beautifully appointed condo-apartment-style suites. When I say beautiful, I mean perfect. Sure, they are new - so it will be interesting to see what they look like in a years time... but the quality of furnishings and equipment is so high, I am sure it will last well.

Great big wide-screen TVs (which excited my son who wanted to see the premiere of High School Musical 2 - and he's 21, sheesh)... great kitchen (in the unlikely event you want to cook), beautiful bedrooms with comfy beds, and a great master bathroom. The second bathroom was also outstanding quality - just a little smaller.

Personal washer and dryer for the longer stays. What more could you want? Oh yes... a great pool area... and the private beach and bar for the overall Soutermost resort just 2 minutes away (and really good value drinks and food).

As for location? Well, I think it was perfect. Right on the beach... and it's quiet - what more would you want? And guys... it's only 10 minutes walk into the centre of Key West - how on earth can anyone complain about that! And the walk is just beautiful.

I can't imagine visiting Key West without staying here. But you pay.

P.S. If you can't afford this place, but like the sound of it, sonsider the Southernmost Motel - especially the sea views... it looks just wonderful (if you just want a basic room).

We stayed at the Santa Maria the week of August 6th and what a beautiful place. The website pictures are very accurate with regards to the units. They are beautiful and well furnished. Karen was fabulous!!! She made our stay very easy and gives great information about the Key West area. Having not ever been in Key West, she was able to point us in the direction of some great resturants and things to see such as the Butterfly Museum. The location is great and easy to get to. These are truly million dollar condos for a weekly rental rate. I look forward to seeing what the new resturant will be like on my return trip.

We had a fabulous time in Key West during 4th of July week - a large part of this was due to the stellar accommodations at the Santa Maria Suites and the excellent service we received from Karen and Carrie! The pictures on their website are completely accurate of the modern decor within the suite! We were so taken back to be in a such a nice place at a great value! The kitchen has all state of the art amenities and cook ware to be able to have breakfast and lunch in the suite or at the gorgeous pool. Karen gave us superb recommendations for snorkeling, buggy rental and places to dine. Not to mention she set everything up for us with very little notice! We will for sure stay here again on the next visit and highly recommend booking a suite as soon as you can!
