“$40.00 breakfast buffett”

Doubletree Hotel Coconut Grove

3 of 5 stars
kent, OH
Apr 16, 2008

The hotel was nice and clean, but needs updating. There is only one ice machine in the lobby, and none anywhere else. The valet parking gets expensivef you tip everytime you need your car.It is also too far from the port of miami if you are going on a cruise. And $40.00 for a buffett breakfast that is a comp at every oyher hotel i have stayed in was way out of line,I even had to pay for morning coffee!!

“Great quality for the price”

Doubletree Hotel Coconut Grove

Fort Myers, Florida

This hotel has amazing views of the harbor and the rooms get a nice cross breeze. The service was excellent and the employees were very helpful. It’s a convenient location within easy walking distance of downtown Coconut Point and it’s just across the street from Scotty’s Landing a fun place to eat and drink. Our room was spacious and the room service fast and tasty. Valet parking is required.

“Nice stay at the Doubletree”

Doubletree Hotel Coconut Grove

Mar 2, 2008

We stayed at the Doubletree one night pre-cruise in February. Everyone seems to gravitate to the Port Area when they are crusing out of Miami but we wanted to try the Coconut Grove as we had read many nice reviews of this area.

Cab from the airport was approx $30 - the hotel's website states it's 7 miles from the airport - but I'm not sure our driver took the most direct route...

We arrived at the hotel about 12:30 and there were no rooms available so we stepped outside to the pool bar and had a drink and relaxed in the sun. The pool are was large and nice - the water itself felt pretty cold to the touch!

We were able to check in within 45 minutes. We received a nice corner room on the 7th floor. Walked into a large area where there was a closet and also a large vanity area with coffee maker and sink. The coffeemaker/coffee was by Wolfgang Puck -the coffee was actually drinkable!

The bedroom area was a little on the small side but very clean and nice. The bed was so comfortable and had nice linens and a duvet. Off the bedroom was a good sized balcony with table and 2 chairs.

The bathroom was large and very clean. It also featured a huge tub - the longest I think I have ever seen! Bath amenities are by Neutrogena.

We did not have dinner at the hotel but enjoyed a very good breakfast for $10 pp. The eggs came out steaming! They also have a breakfast buffet available

We were at the port of Miami (by cab) in about 20 minutes time. The bell /valet staff were very friendly.

The Coconut Grove area is very nice. We walked to Cocowalk and the Shops at Mayfair. Lots of shops and artwork. The Biscayne Bay is on the other side of street and we walked back through all the marinas, etc., and had a fantastic dinner at Monty's Raw Bar.

I would definitely recommend this hotel

“loved the bed and almost everything else!”

Doubletree Hotel Coconut Grove

4 of 5 stars
Tegucigalpa, Honduras
Feb 11, 2008

We ended up getting this hotel through priceline and I definitely feel like we got a great deal! We were just in Miami for a long layover/shopping trip and this fit our needs perfectly. The hotel has an amazingly comfortable bed and everything was extremely clean. This was our first stay in a Doubletree, and we appreciated the cookie and the Neutrogena products.

The staff was helpful, though they weren't extraordinary. The valets were nice, but it was annoying to have to wait to get our rental car every time we needed it.

We walked to the Coconut Grove shopping area and had a great meal at the Cheesecake Factory. We also bought food at the great gourmet market across the street.

I would definitely stay here again, though unless I get another bargain like on Priceline, I probably won't!

“Business Traveller Hotel”

Doubletree Hotel Coconut Grove

3 of 5 stars
Belo Horizonte, Brazil
Jan 20, 2008

Residential area small old hotel that host business travellers.

The rooms are decent, hotel is old, restaurant lacking.

It's across the street from a gourmet grocery store (Fresh Market), and across from The Chart House Restaurant (high class dining).

Breakfast is not good, dinner is decent.

Tennis courts - unusual for a hotel.

Very poor service, not up to the Hilton standard.

Don't expect any benefits if you are a Gold/Diamond VIP since they don't have options for upgrades and don't care.
