I travel al l of the time for work, and this place was not up to any standards that I find necessary.

What to beware of

1. NO wireless internet access in your room. You must hook-up to an ethernet cable and pay $9.95 a day. You can get wireless in the lobby if you want to lug your laptop there and have everyone able to see what you are doing.
2. No coffee table in your living room. Just put your drinks on the floor I guess.
3. No pool towels that you could actually use to dry yourself, just threadbare oversized dish towels.
4. A n A/C system that blows directly on your bed. You can not adjust the louvers.
5. A coffee maker that uses those single serving packets so that even if you bring your own coffee you can not use it in that coffee maker.
6. No other complimentary coffee, donuts drinks or anything in the hotel.
7. No plates or cups or silverware.
8. Tiny microwave, no other cooking options.
9. A swimming pool that must be heated to at least 100 degrees. Really it is so hot it is more like a sauna.
10. Ants all over the swimming pool deck.
11. Oh yeah, ants in our room, they came and sprayed the kitchen, but I found them in the bedroom.
12. Great warm cookies
13. a 4PM check in time. Never heard of such a thing, which meant for our arrival day, we had to leave everything in the car when we went to Disney. ( We arrived at 3PM and no room was ready).
15. While you can have folks sleep in the living room pull out couch, they must go through the bedroom to use the bathroom.
16. We took the shuttle to Disney and it took 15 minutes to get there...it took over 1 hour for the return trip!!! No traffic, just some round about route. Oh and the 9PM shuttle did not come until 9:25PM.
17. The staff was pleasant.

With all of the options in Disney, I would certainly pass this one by.

We just returned from a 8-night stay at this hotel with our family of four (2 kids, 10 and 12) and would highly recommend it. The property is beautifully maintained, service was excellent and friendly, and it's in a great location--right near highway 4, so you can get around town easily. Pool: very nice, heated, beautifully landscaped. (Be aware that the food and drinks served from the poolside restaurant are expensive. The sign says you can't bring your own beverages to the pool, but we did, anyway.) We ate in the restaurant only for breakfast. Our orignial plan had been to buy groceries and eat breakfast in our room, but when we checked in we were given a choice of free wifi, extra points on our Hilton rewards card, or daily vouchers for 2 free adult breakfasts (the cold buffet only). We chose the breakfasts. They were very nice, but ended up costing us more than we expected. The kids' cold breakfast buffet was $6 each, then add the tip and our daily breakfast bill was $17--not horrible, but more expensive than we had planned on. Be aware that if you want to eat in your room, the suites have a half-size frig and a microwave, but no toaster., no cutlery, no paper products, tiny sink and trash baskets, etc. no dishes, etc. Also, be aware that the grocery store directly across the intersection at Buena Vista (I think it was called Goodings, or something like that...?) is priced for the tourist trade: way, way beyond sky-high prices ($!0 for a case of water, for example). If you have a car, you're better off searching out a store a few miles away. The store inside the hotel has mostly snacky stuff--also very expensive. Our kids went down to the game room but were disapponted to find that the games cost about $1 each to play. I suppose this kind of pricing is standard in a tourist-driven town. Overall, the hotel was super, and we would stay here again.

“Wonderful vacation experience!”

We just returned from our Disney vacation and I have to share our great experience at this hotel. The front desk and concierge workers were very helpful and friendly. The pool was fantastic--water was very warm and pool was quite large. Often times, we had it to ourselves. We ate at the pool bar one evening--delicious food! It was so nice not to have to find a restaurant after a full day at the parks.

Housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping things clean and fully stocked. Our reservations included complimentary breakfast for 4. Unfortunately, we had 5 people. The morning breakfast was delicious. We only used the "cold breakfast" as there was an upgrade charge to include hot items. There was plenty available without paying the additional upgrade fee.

Disney transportation was well worth it--nice to not have to pay the $11 parking fee. It took about 20 minutes to get to the parks. One day one bus was "out of order" which added some drive time--this was our only negative experience. The drivers really tried to accomodate quickly by putting us all on another bus.

We saw none of the construction mentioned in earlier reviews--all was updated and fresh.

I would highly recommend this hotel for a Disney vacation!

“Super Disney Value”

Stayed 3 nights March 29,30,31,2008. I am a pilot for a national carrier so I stay at hotels in most major American cities nearly every week. We use Doubletree for our crews in both Washington D.C. and also in San Fran. and I can always plan on a pleasant stay at both. Found a recommendation for the Guest Suites on a website called Mousesavers and booked the stay using the link on the mousesavers website which gets you free cont. breakfast for up to 4 each morning. Worked great. The all suite hotel was perfect for our family of 5. Suite size was very ample, 2 dbl beds in the bedroom and a full size sofa/sleeper in the living area. Microwave and Refer. along with dining table provided all the rest of our needs while visiting Disney parks. Rooms and decor throughout was new/bright and all areas clean. Staff were all excellent from front desk to wait staff in restaurant. Free bus service every half hour to Disney parks was excellent and on time. Pool area also very nice. I will stay here again and highly recommend. I was also pleased to pay 139 plus tax during Easter/Spring Break per night. I don't think that can be beat either!

I have never written a review before but feel that the experience my family just had deserves a few words. This was our first big family vacation and our first trip to Disney. I was really pleased with the appearance and cleanliness of the hotel. The lobby appeared to have been updated from some of the photos on the hotel website. We had a problem at check-in (only smoking rooms available.) The manager Darrin did everything he could to accomodate us and really made us feel like he was going out of his way for us. (I think the chain has adopted a "can-do" slogan, and it seemed to fit the character of all of the employees we encountered during our stay). We had to change rooms after one night, but we were received comp vouchers for the breakfast buffet which was wonderful, and more than made up for the inconvenience. This hotel is in a fantastic location. It is easy to get to the parks, and accessible to a lot of good restaurants. I know people rave about the Disney transportation, but we took it once and decided to pay the $11 parking each day at the parks. During peak travel time, we got to feeling tired of beign herded like cattle onto busses, rides, boats, monorails.... We wanted to come and go at our own pace and didn't want to plan our departure time around the 1/2 hour when busses arrived. So, if you are the least bit inpatient, and you are visiting during peak travel, consider taking your own vehicle to the parks. The roads are all well marked and it is very easy to find the parks- even when you are exhausted.

We will definately return to the Double Tree Suites next time we are in LBV/Disney.
