My husband and I stayed for our 2nd anniversary....fun trip to Universal. We had a car and and the hotel is just minutes away from Universal, Wet & Wild, and tons of restaurants and other fun things. The room was a well appointed suite with a king bed (changed at my request at no extra hassle or charge). There was a manager's reception nightly (during the week) with cocktails and food. The breakfast was good and many took advantage of the complimentary services. All of the staff members were fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of. We had a HUGE basket of fruit and a bottle of wine, not to mention an anniversary card personally signed by several of the staff. I will definitely stay here again anytime I am in the Orlando area. I reccommend this hotel for anyone...families, couples, and singles. GREAT!!!!

“Great Hotel for every occasion”

Homewood Suites Orlando Universal

I stayed at Homewood Suites for 5 nights while in Orlando for business. I had a King Suite that I purchased through Expedia for well below the going rate. Previously I had stayed at the Homewood Suites in Schaumburg, IL and absolutely fell in love with the hotel. The room has a kitchenette w/full-size fridge, dishes, dishwasher; living room with pull-out couch, chair, and television; king-sized bed with tons of pillows and comfy sheets, bathroom has a nice sized shower/tub. The closet is a little small for more than one person, but worked fine for just me.

I had a quick check in process and got a room on the 2nd floor which was perfect especially when there was a wait for the elevator. (The elevators are kinda slow). Also, on the 2nd floor was the fitness center which was very nice. There were 2 treadmills, a full body weight center, free weights, mats, a stair-stepper, and 2 types of bicylces. There was also a television, water cooler, fresh towels, and a sink in the room.

I love the fact that this hotel serves a full hot breakfast and dinner for FREE! Since it is free I didn't mind waiting in line to get to a certain item that they were offering. There is limited space in the reception area, so some of the time I ate in my room, which was fine since there was a table in there too.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!

“Fantastic Hotel”

I recently stayed at this hotel for four days over Mother's Day weekend. I was in town for a wedding that was held at the Portofino Bay and this hotel's proximity to the Universal Orlando Resort was fantastic. The resort was right behind the hotel. We stayed in a suite with two queen beds. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The hotel had complimentary breakfast every morning we were there. I'm not talking continental either. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and corn beef hash. There's even a small arcade with video games and pinball and a small gym to get some fitness going. The best part of this hotel is the proximity to all the major Orlando attractions. Other than Universal being next door the drive to the WDW property took no more than ten minutes to get to. SeaWorld was closeby as well as Millennia Mall.

This is a wonderful hotel. I look forward to staying there again and highly recommend it to anyone!

“great value”

We found this hotel to be a great value with a before tax rate of $109 per night. We spent two nights and found the room very comfortable for a family of four. The bedroom was spacious, with comfy beds and pillows.
Although we did not use the kitchenette, it was more than adequate for preparing a family meal, with a 2 burner stove and full sized fridge. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning, and the taco bar on Thurs. helped to stretch our meal budget.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was a good size with an ample supply of lounge chairs and canopies for shade when the sun became to hot. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

“Home from Home-wood”

Homewood Suites Orlando Universal

My husband and I stayed at the Homewood Suites for 9 days at the beginning of May. We hadn't pre booked a suite because we were doing a bit of a tour of Florida and only planned on staying for a couple of days and then moving on to St Augustine but liked the suites so much that we decided to stay till the end of our vacation. Our first night wasn't the best night we could have had though, we were originally given a King suite but we had a bit of a problem with the ceiling fan making a squeaking/rattling noise but if we switched it off we could then hear the traffic noise from the I4 so it turned out to be a long sleepless night. The following morning we asked at reception if they had another room and was treated very well by the desk staff, they apologised for our bad night and immediately moved us to another room, the only thing was that it was a room with 2 Queens instead of a King, we said that it would be Ok, it actually turned out to be a much bigger suite than we had had and it overlooked the pool rather than the I4. We liked it so much that we asked if we could stay for the next 7 nights. Maddy on reception was superb and sorted it out for us straight away.( All our best wishes Maddy on the impending birth of your baby, hope everything goes well, from the purfume lady)
One of the things with having a suite is that when I got up in the morning and my husband wanted a lay in, then at least I could get up and sit and read without disturbing him.
There was a good selection of food for breakfast every morning and you are able to make your own waffles so they are lovely and fresh when you want them. All the food was replenished on a regular basis. We had breakfast at different times and never had a problem finding somewhere to sit in the breakfast area.
There is an evening managers drinks get together Mon to Thur, there is beer, wine, soft drinks and a light meal on offer, we didn't bother with any of the food because we like to go out in the evening to try different restaurants but we did par-take of a few glasses of beer by the pool on a few occasions. Families with young children or teenagers who can eat for england would find this a very big money saver.
The pool temperature was just right, not too cold but still refreshing, there was plenty of free loungers but only 4 cabana's so if you want some shade when at the pool you may struggle.
The rooms were very clean when we arrived and housekeeping made up the room everyday with lovely fresh towels but we did notice that the toilet wasn't cleaned until our 8th day, not a major problem but just something to be aware of if you are planning on staying there in the future.
We were able to use the computers in the business suite to keep in touch with people, there are times when the suite is busier than others, you just have to try a different time.
All the staff were friendly, they smile and say hi when you meet them in the halls and some ask if there is anything they can do to make your stay any better. (A nice touch)
On the whole we enjoyed our stay here and would consider it for any future visits to Florida. We would recommend you to try it out.
