“Nice place but service needs improvement”

Comfortable beds, friendly staff, and great place to see everything. BUT, they need to improve their secondary services. Upon arrival I was supposed to have a package waiting for me. Front desk called down to the "Package Desk" and ask. Nope nothing. Next morning I called down and got the same response "Nope nothing" then a click on the phone. I called the party who was supposed to have sent it and they gave me the tracking number. I checked on line (Cost me $13.00 to get on the line from my room) and it said it had been delivered. I called down, again got a "Nope nothing". I finally went down and found the guy at the desk playing a game on his computer or updating his myspace account.

While there saying the package should be there I saw a UPS envelope on the desk with my name. He looked at me and said, "you said it was a package." I just took it and left.

Other issues, the food at the Garden Grill was awful and Picaboes doesn't service Krispy Kreme Donuts anymore. They replaced them with a lesser quality donut.

“A great alternative”

Walt Disney World Dolphin

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Dolphin last October and had a good experience. Decided to stay at this property since it was only a boat ride to MGM and Epcot, yet the price was reasonable.

On check in we received a corner room with 2 balconies and the fireworks started right as we entered – it was a great sight.

The room was very dated and in desperate need of renovation – yet everything was in working order.

The boats to MGM and Epcot were great and fast – longest wait was about 10 minutes. The bus to Magic Kingdom was ok as well – had to wait about 20 minutes, but the ride home is fairly long (about 45 min) since there are about 5 stops before.

The biggest complaint I had about the room was the water bottles – they place 2 water bottles in a tray next to glasses with no note or price. The way they are presented makes them look complementary – on check out I found out they were not – about $5 each. The charges were removed on my final bill.

Overall a great alternative to the hotels on the monorail.

“Great Trip To Disney”

Walt Disney World Dolphin

This is a "convention type" hotel with lots of business people around. Some reviews have this as a negative but I liked when I went back to my hotel . You can get away from all the noise and Disney type surroundings for a bit! I love Disney but this hotel is a little removed from all the theme type stuff which is OK with me.
The lobby areas are beautiful with lots a seating and things to see and look at.

Great things about this hotel are:

Check in easy and nice

Lots of restaurants to choose from. Picabu has a "shop" inside of the check-out area with stuff to buy such as sunscreen and cookies or snack bars and drinks. Good prices. They have a big selection of food such as salads and fresh fruit also. Everyone can find something to eat.

We ate lots of fries and burgers the whole time but we knew we would be home to regular food some day. Food was kind of average but this is the case every where I am told. But really the food here was just fine and we lived. Service is good too.

The elevators are rockets. We were on the 17th floor and I swear it took about 4 seconds for the thing to get us up to our floor!
NEVER a wait at an elevator!

Laundry room on 1st floor great! I did a load everyday very early in the morning before we headed out. 25 min. to wash 30-35 to dry and fold. $2 a load and 1$ each for tide or bounce. No wait for a machine.

Easy transportation to DISNEY parks.

Disney tickets can be purchased on site in guest services in the lobby. Excellent service and a good idea to wait in case of rain!

Went to Sea World and Disney parks and had a blast and a very nice time the whole stay.

Service at the Dolphin was VERY good and a great value.

Negatives- ONLY ONE...........

Our bathroom was TINY and a pain to try to get in and out of!

OTHER GOOD THINGS>>>>>
Rooms were very clean and smelled nice. The beds were soft and had clean sheets that were new and smooth, Fluffy nice pillows.
Clean carpet and walls.NICE mini bar area with yummy Starbucks coffee and maker. Paper cups with lids too!

Grounds were beautiful and clean. Easy to get around. Bellman were very nice and helpful.

GREAT STAY> Would go back. NICE place and great visit all around!

“Not a bad hotel at all, pools are NOT heated!!”

We just got back from a six day trip during Thanksgiving.
I was nervous after reading all the bad reviews. The hotel was just fine. We got a great rate of $179/night, so we couldn't beat the price as we needed to book two rooms. The hotel is in a great location (near Epcot, MGM and the boardwalk). We went with two teenage boys, so the lack of the "disney" feeling in the hotel was fine with us.
I can honestly say, that the only negative thing I have to say about the hotel is that they say on their web page that they have 5 heated pools, NOT TRUE! None of the pools were heated, in fact they were freezing!! But don't worry, they do have 5 hot tubs! I would recommend this hotel to others, it's so large that it never seemed crowded, even though it was at 98% capacity. The Disney resorts
seemed very crowded (The yacht & beach club next door and the boardwalk).

“Great hotel”

Walt Disney World Dolphin

We statyed at this hotel during a 10 day stay at Disney.

Not actually being owned by Disney it provided some welcome relief from the relentless Mickey mouse sunniness ther prevades through out the park.

It is located in the Epcot resort and is ideally located; within walking distance to Epcot and the Boardwalk; by boat to Epcot, Boardwalk and Disney MGM and by bus to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Blizzard beach water park.

There is a large conference centre attached to this hotel; which means that the vast majority of travellers are there in buisness.

As it's not owned by Disney there is also less children staying at the hotel. Though there is a gift shop.

There are some excellent restaurants within the hotel; particualrly Shulas steak house, Kimonos sushi and Bluezoo. For quick snacks the Fountain is recommended and for a great breakfast buffet there is Fresh. One thig you won't be short of in this hotel is food!

The rooms were large; with 2 Queen size beds; with heavenly mattresses; which were too soft for me but very comfortable.

The bathroom has a seperate sink and vanity area. There is a veru small half size shower bath in the bathroom; which may be alarming to english visitors; but are very common in america; those wanting a deep hot soak may be disapointed; though you can still bathe.

There is a great choice of TV and movies for charge and a good room service menu and facilities such as laundry etc.

This is a large hotel and is well appointed for everything a buisness or leisure traveller; including a 24 hour internet centre and concierge.

There is a also an escellent guet services centre and ATM's for booking trips and cars etc.

This a great hotel for anyone travelling to Disney in a group of adults who maybe want some respite from Mickey!
