After being totally disgusted with Adam's attitude at Hibiscus Suites, I looked around for a good hotel and came across Country Inn and Suites and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT... My husband, 15 month old and I stayed there for 3 nights, 4 days and had no complaints whatsover. They have a great complimentary breakfast every morning, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, hot/cold cereal, coffee, bagels, yogurt etc...
The staff is so friendly and accomodating, the hotel is clean, clean clean which is huge for us especially with a baby. Definitely the best hotel we've stayed at in a while for that price, it's a jewel in Sarasota!

We booked it on the strength of the good reviews on tripadvisor & we were very pleased to find they were all true.

The hotel is a great find at a good rate. We paid $119 per night for a 2 room king suite, breakfast included.

The whole place was spotlessly clean & very well maintained. Our suite was bigger than expected with a huge bed & double sofa bed. TV in lounge & bedroom.

There was a good size fridge, a microwave and coffee making facilities. Only downside, no kettle to warm water for our morning tea, (we are Brits!) Also no spoons. We asked the maid and she got some for us. Also asked for another blanket & this was supplied within 10 minutes.
The maid service was really good & the rooms were well serviced & cleaned every morning.
Shampoo, conditioner, soap supplied but no bath caps.
The notice in the room said that if you have forgotten any toiletries, please ask at reception & they will supply them free of charge. A nice touch.
Another nice touch was the basket of apples in the reception area plus in the evening free chocolate chip cookies.

Breakfast was standard fare, cereals, juice, coffee, toast, yogurt, bagels, muffins & hot fresh waffles. Also scrambled eggs, bacon & sausages.

Check in/out was easy, no lines or hassles. Both took minutes.

A great find at an excellent rate if you don't mind being away from the beaches.

We needed to stay one night somewhere before our condo week started on Siesta Key, so I was checking the hotels in the area and saw the recommendation on Trip Advisor. I'm so glad I did! The property looks brand new, though it's about ten years old, but has been totally remodeled already. Everything was clean and charming. The room was a good size for that type of hotel and had a little refrigerator and microwave and coffee/tea maker. The pool was nice and the jacuzzi was just right. It was in a nice safe-feeling location away from the city, and the grounds were very pretty with lots of hibiscus and palms. It was within easy driving distance to the sights of Sarasota, lots of restaurants, and about 20 minutes from Siesta Key (depending on traffic!) or just a few minutes from Myakka State Park, which is a must for anyone near Sarasota. I would heartily recommend this hotel. It is priced like a Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express, but offers such a nice comfortable experience. Also, the breakfast was above average with Belgian waffle irons and some hot items too.

I pretty much stay at this hotel everytime I travel to Sarasota. It is conveniently located right off of I-75 and has a clean, friendly manner to it. Since I'm a woman who frequently travels alone for business, it's important to me to have a hotel that is safe on many accounts: location, well lit parking, interior rooms and a 24 hour lobby staff. There is a free buffet breakfast which is better than most with a very popular waffle station (I haven't used it yet but there's always a wait). There is a computer in the lobby with free access which was great during a recent stay when I forgot my laptop at home. The staff is very nice as well. Overall, a great choice for your stay in Sarasota.
