The couple vacationing with me on Longboat Key celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary while we were on vacation. Their anniversary was on a Sunday this year and I was a little concerned about where to take them to celebrate. Fortunately reservations were available on the date and time I requested. We had Grouper Oscar, the special that day. They raved for the rest of the week, making me a hero in spite of the red tide and Katrina! They can't wait to go back (and we will, next year.) People wonder about our going to Florida in August, but we can't change the date of their wedding...what were they thinking? I'm thinking "No Problem" so long as Cafe L'Europe is open and we can get there. The service and the food can be depended on regardless of the weather.

This wonderful restaurant has some of the best seafood dishes I have ever experienced. The decor is rustic and feels very european, if you go definitely request the back of teh restaurant in the summer - the front or patio is not the place to be with the humidity.

The seafood risotto and the Italian tapas were excellent! The wine list was extensive, would like to see a few Austrailian wines added but the wines were moderately priced.

I would definitely go there if you are in Sarasota!
