Got a remodelled unit viewing the water. Ask for a redone unit or get a discount. This hotel is in Northern Sarasota/Southern Bradenton, only several miles down Tamiami Trail to downtown Sarasota. Loved the little tiki bar (day & night) and magic show on the weekends. There are many cheaper places around, but I, for one, would be a little nervous about those places.

We live in town (actually within walking distance) and had a major plumbing disaster on a Friday--of course--and had no water all weekend. We stopped by the Cay Club to beg for a room just so we could have running water...we were happy with the rates offered (the guy at the Front Desk was so friendly and helpful, and unfortunately I can't remember his name!) and were really happy when we got to the room! I'd heard some not-so-nice things about the place, so we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the furnishings were and how clean the room was. It's obvious that they are putting some money into the hotel. The furnishings were West Indies style, the tile floors were gorgeous. The bed was one of the most comfortable I'd ever slept on. The A/C and fridge were both efficient but noisy!! And the TV remote wasn't set properly, so we needed to get up to turn the TV on & off and adjust the volume. The brunch was excellent Sunday, the drinks at the tiki bar were great, and the pool was very clean and well maintained. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was wonderful the first day and bad the second day (didn't sweep, clean the countertops, leave us any tissues or enough towels).

Even though we live so close by, we plan to get away to the Cay Club a couple times a year. And we would recommend the place without hesitation. Not sure about the rooms in the "older" building to the left of the lobby, but once they are complete there will be no reason not to visit this place!!

I've stayed there twice - Summer 2006 and 2007. The hotel is in the midst of updating their rooms. In 2006 I had an older room. It was average, but clean. The A/C had issues, and they fixed it right away. In 2007, they gave us an updated room and WOW!!! what a difference - Garden tub with jets, LCD TV mounted on the wall, pillow top mattress, kitchenette with all new appliances. Both rooms faced the marina. Tiki Bar is nice. We didn't eat there. In summary, be sure to ask for an updated room!!!

We had a great get a way. Loved the Marina. Hotel desk staff were frienldly and polite. Food was great. Tiki bar overlooks Marina and Pool. Great View from Hotel Room and Tiki Bar. Room was clean comfortable. Refrig, Microwave and blow dryer in room no extra cost.
Got to hotel about 2pm check in not until 4pm. Room with city view available and ready we ask if we could get a room with the Marina View and they said yes it just wasn't ready until 4pm. they offered us access to facilities while they got our room ready. We were early not them late. We walked around the Marina and had lunch at the tiki bar. Staff were great.
