This hotel was quaint and simple. The rooms were tiny compared to your modern hotel but the beds were comfortable and the bathroom facilities served their purpose. The porch looking over the park was a great place to sip your morning coffee (which was brought to the room with a muffin). The location however, was the best part about the hotel. You didn't have to find parking or walk more than a few feet in any direction to find food or a cute boutique. The hotel staff, especially the valet, were incredible. The hotel is so small, they recognize you immediately.
The only downfall, and it's a significant one, is the noise. The trains, which run behind the hotel are jarring in the middle of the night and they are usually fairly long. The whole room shakes when then go by and the whistle can wake the dead. Also, on a rowdy Saturday night we could clearly hear the patrons leaving the bars. We found that if you turned the air conditioner on, it drowned out the people outside. Nothing cound mask the train though!
I would suggest it for a fun night or two, but if you are staying longer than that the small rooms and loud trains would get uncomfortable.
