This was our first trip to Chicago which we took June 26th-30th, 2008. After reading the TripAdvisor reviews about the Courtyard Marriott, we decided that this property was in a great location-on the Magnificient Mile and basically a nice place to stay. The reviews were right on. The location was a nice walk to Navy Pier, shopping, great food-just name it. We arrived early on Thursday, 9:00 a.m. and the front desk clerk was kind enough to go ahead and check us in. I had requested early check in but did not think they would give us a room this early! We were just hoping that they would keep our luggage while we went to a Cubs game at 1:00 p.m. This was a nice surprise for us. We stayed on the 19th floor which was VERY quiet. I wasn't sure if anyone was even staying on our floor. We happened to get a handicap room therefore our bathroom was very large. Our bedroom was not large and the closet was very small (probably because the bathroom was extra large) but the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Unless you need a handicap room, this is probably not your best option since you could probably get a larger room. Our room size really wasn't a big problem though for us since we were out so much exploring the beautiful city. If you get a chance, do the Architecture City Boat Tour. It is amazing how much water really does traverse through the city. I did call the desk a couple of times for a blanket and extra towels. Someone was at our door very quickly after we called with our requests. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. We paid $135.00 per night which included a government discount. We would stay at this property again.
