“Convention Madness”

Due to flight complication we needed to stay a night in Chicago near the airport. We have stayed at other Hyatt Hotels before but this time it was a nightmare. If you want to stay there be sure to find out what kind of convention is going on. This time it had something to do with Pokemon gaming and all the weird people dressed up in some hideous costume to represent their character in the game. The noise level was unbearable, we had to call front desk to do something about the noise next to our room, this went on all night long. I will not stay there again.

“Great for convention, meetings, etc.”

Hyatt Regency O'Hare

I stayed here for a conference that was being held at the adjacent convention center. While the hotel IS "connected" to the Donald Stephens Rosemont Convention Center, its a long winding skywalk and there are closer hotels located across the street to the convention center. The hotel is obviously the choice for 1) travelers (airport nearby, airplanes flying right over you, lots of flight crews in and out) and 2) corporate meetings and conventions. Aside from our group, the steel workers union were having a large meeting when we arrived and when we left the Anime/Goth crowd was checking in for a convention. Our rooms were on the ends of the main building so they were located in a corner back area which allowed small corner rooms but upgraded, very clean & nice rooms. The lobby and bar and restaurant were also very clean, nice, high end design updgraded spaces. The staff was extremely personable and helpful going out of their way to help us. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone that needs to be in the area.

“Fancy and expensive”

We had a conference here in July 2007, so stayed here as well, since it is kinda far from a large selection of other hotels.

They have a shuttle from O'hare, appropriately enough. The hotel looks to be about 30 years old, but has been completely redone in a very post modern style. The lobby is a full-height-job with rooms all around the atrium and those showy glass elevators. Good grade on the decor. The lobby staff were friendly and knowledgable.

The room was pretty standard issue with urban decor and slightly upgraded desk and other chair. The bed was comfy and clean.

The eating options in the hotel are EXPENSIVE. They have a sports bar, lobby coffee bar and a white table cloth place in the atrium. We ate at the bar and the coffee shop and felt pretty ripped off for the food, eventhough the food was good. The room service was good.

The conference facilities were standard, with rather mediocre boxed lunches.

It is close to the Blue line train, so we went into downtown, eventhough it took an hour on the train.

Internet was the usual ripoff t-mobile $10 a day.

I would stay her again only if I had too. I might look around at the other (presumably pricey) chain hotels in the neighborhood, if I was coming back to O'hare area.

“Great stay at the Hyatt”

Hyatt Regency O'Hare

5 of 5 stars
Asheville, North Carolina

The cab ride to the Hyatt Regency O Hare was $10.25. It was about 5 minutes from the airport. The hotel has a shuttle but we didn’t know it at the time and we didn’t feel like waiting. We got room 815. It looks like it is a little larger than regular rooms because it is a corner room. There is a small shower and no tub. Everything looks nice and well taken care of.

The people at the front desk were fast, friendly and efficient. You really couldn’t ask for more. They had self check in kiosks available but we didn’t use them. They also have a kiosk where you can check in for your flight and print a boarding pass but we didn’t use that either. There is a bar downstairs that looks pretty cool. There is also a restaurant. The room service prices are outrageous. American Breakfast is $18 and a liter of Grey Goose Vodka is $130. Holy cow!

The bed was WONDERFUL! It was nice and soft. The comforter didn’t weigh 10 tons like some of the comforters on the nicer beds do. We had six pillows. We could hear a little noise from the room next door and a plane every now and then, but it didn’t interfere with sleep.

We took the shuttle to the airport and it was very fast. We had just missed one, but the next one came in 5-10 minutes.

Overall I give the hotel very high marks for service and cleanliness.

“Great home away from home”

I have started staying at this hotel since the first of the year because my new office is across the street. It has been a fabulous experience! The front office staff has gotten to know me-the personal service is fantastic. Also, there is a new bar/lounge called Red Bar. This has been a great place to meet with customers and network at night. Beautiful new health club too. . .and free!
