“Nice place, but a couple of very small problems.”

I had made a reservation at the Courtyard over a month in advance, but they called a couple of days in advance to bump me to the Fairfield Inn after they overbooked the Courtyard.

So, I was at Fairfield without any problems. Nice place... Indoor pool and hot tub, continental breakfast, which I never eat.

Only problems were that my heater in my room made weird sounds all night and the first morning my wake-up-call was fifteen minutes late. Thankfully I had set my BlackBerry to wake me, too. The wake-up-call didn't come until I had already gotten out of the shower.

“Pet Friendly Fairfield Inn”

Fairfield Inn Bloomington

5 of 5 stars
Indianapolis, IN
Jun 26, 2006

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn b/c it is a pet-friendly hotel and we brought our dog. I was extremely satisfied with the stay. The rooms, and in fact, the entire hotel did not seem like a "dog" hotel--no stains, smells, etc.. at all, anywhere. Also, there are side doors at the end of each hallway so that dog owners can go outside without having to traipse through the lobby and annoy others. The rooms were completely soundproof and spotless. The beds were the pillow-top type and pillows abundant. Staff was very friendly--breakfast bar above average--included boiled eggs and make-your-own belgium waffles, along with the regular continental fare.

I would recommend this hotel very highly to anyone, pet owner or not. But pet owners, please remember to clean up after your pet, don't leave it in the room alone, watch to make sure it doesn't damage anything, and report and pay for any damage it does cause. Don't ruin it for other pet owners by being irresponsible!

“One of Bloomington's better hotels”

This Fairfield Inn is clean and conveniently located across from the highway. My room is large and the TV played cable channels and HBO. Continental breakfast included toast, cereals, meats, cheeses, fruit, pastries, and eggs, plus juice and coffee. Food was of average quality (typical 3-star chain motel breakfast), but plentiful. There's a small workout room onsite. My only complaint was that it seemed a bit pricey for what I'd expect to find in such a small town.

“Friendly, fairly basic”

We stayed one night at the Fairfield Inn while visiting Indiana University with our son. We booked a "king suite," with a fold out bed in the living room. The king bed itself was of superior quality, but the fold out bed was awful--very small, with a thin mattress. Otherwise the room was acceptable, with a few extra touches--two large TVs, a small fridge and a microwave. The front desk staff was very cordial. Breakfast in a room off the lobby included yogurt, cereal, bagels and toast. There was also a small indoor swimming pool and whirlpool just off the main lobby, visible to all passers-by. I would consider staying here again, since almost all the Bloomington hotels are chain properties. But I wouldn't ask my son to sleep on the fold out bed!

“Good location but pricy!”

This is an older property in need of some new carpeting, updated baths, and new drapes. There was a frig in the room and the king room had a nice chair with an ottoman. Breakfast was heavy on doughnuts, sweet rolls, waffles, french toast and no yogurt and little fresh fruit. This was a Labor Day weekend with an Arts Fair in town but the rate of $143. as a reward member seemed very high. Easy access to restaurants, shopping and downtown Bloomington. Rates in this city vary with Indiana University activities so make reservations early for busy times and always do some price comparison.
