We stayed at the Quality Inn in downtown Des Moines for one night on our way to Minneapolis. Overall, our stay was pretty average for a Quality Inn. The room was clean and staff was friendly. The property is a short walk from the Wells Fargo Arena and Hy-Vee Hall, but not much else.
Our only problem we experienced during our short stay was with the shower. It took about 15 minutes for the water to warm up. We had reported this to the front desk upon check out and they apologized, stating that they had trouble with a water pump that morning, but no credit or adjustment was made on our folio.
Breakfast at the restaurant is included in the room rate, but it isn't much. It is just eggs, waffles and fruit and, since the actual restaurant itself didn't open until lunch, there wasn't the option of ordering additional or other items from the restaurant menu.
If I'm in the Des Moines area again, I'll probably choose one of the other downtown hotel properties (Embassy Suites, Marriott or Renaissance) before coming back to the Quality Inn.
