The place was exactly as we hoped it would be for our wedding anniversary! Loved the tented camp, the design, the waterhole and the calmness and romantic feeling. But have to say that staff was very strange, including the manager: Sometimes over-powering in their duty, sometimes just not realizing that one wants not to have a long and staged conversation at the table or the pool. But all that aside - Onguma failed in the service for it's prizes. If you come back from safari at 5pm (all guest have been out) and ask for a cup of coffe and get to hear: we are serving coffee only between 3 and 4 and are busy in the kitchen with cooking the dinner than I have to say, thats just not good enough. Disappointing was the guide for the safari compared to others, especially Epacha Lodge and Spa. The hot waterbottle expecting us in our bed in the evening did not help to cure this rather soulless atmosphere!
