Booked a non-smoking room, once I arrived Saturday evening, I was told they only had smoking rooms available. The room's (#126) alarm clock was not working, checked the plug behind the bed and the outlet was coming off the wall (electrical hazard!!) The blow dryer did not work, there was a continuous leak in the tub, the toilet handle had to be jiggled after flushing otherwise the water kept running, and finally, the maid came at approx 11am Sunday to tidy up the room, told her to come back later and she never returned. I informed the desk clerk that the dryer/clock were not working and the response was "oh, ok." Not a good experience at all.

“Really was a great value”

Americas Best Value Inn Henderson

The room was quiet, comfortable, the furnishings were in decent shape, and most importantly it passed my wifes' cleanliness inspection, and she is picky. Also the internet connection worked perfectly and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I have to wonder if the people who rated this hotel badly stayed at this hotel. There were no rooms above reception as stated by 1 negative reviewer, and while not new it certainly didn't look run down as stated by the second It was also very easy to find where the 3rd negative reviewer had difficulty finding the hotel and their way back to the strip.. When I-215 ends it becomes Lake Mead Blvd. The hotel is on Lake Mead less than 1/2 mile past the end of I-215. I saw their sign within a couple of blocks of the end of I-215. One could almost get to the strip blindfolded and besides that you can easily see all of strip from the parking lot, day or night.

“Hell on Earth... For a FEE”

Americas Best Value Inn Henderson

I will first start by saying, "AHHHHH!". I will attempt not to show bias by presenting the facts chronologically from our stay. Last minute bereavement trip, so we went through Priceline and got hooked up with this little sinkhole in North Henderson. Motel is not actually in Vegas. Knowledge of highways required to get to strip and other area attractions. We checked in and were given a room on the top floor, front all the way on the right. This room would be great for anyone feeling lonely because there was a trail of ants from the door to the bathroom toilet. When I went to the front desk to complain I was told, "The Handyman doesn't work today" (Thursday) When I asked if the attendent was aware of the trouble in that room she told me, "That always happens because the trash can gets full over 'dere, ju know?!!"

Exasperated, I asked for some other type of accommodation or refund. We were then assigned a new room only to find that the gap between the front door and the ground was large enough to get my fist through. Complaints to the new attendant on duty did not yield any change, only the routine about the handyman not being on duty. We were appeased by yet another room assignment. I believe we went to the same room as the other posts with the demolished furniture and bloody carpet. After the shock set in that the particular room would be deemed acceptable for guests, another room was accepted and granted. The fourth room appeared to be alright at first and second look but was not without its problems.

Our final room had a refrigerator that was not plugged in. Come to find out, it sounds like a military-grade helicopter is preparing for take-off in the room. The toilet became backed up and the extra bed's sheets had to leveraged to clean the spill-over because room service would not come and you guessed it, the handyman was off that day. Further, the deadbolt on the door was not functional and the windows would not even close all the way, much less lock. The iron had scorch marks as if it had been used for auto body work and the ironing board so dirty that I would not use it to fold my dog's sweaters. When bed time came, we too experienced the bed bugs and miscellaneous noises usually associated with an episode of Cops.

Come morning, I went down to talk to the staff about the problems we were having in our room. The same attendant was there from the day before and was overly irreverent towards me. More than one would expect when paying for the privilege to stay some place. When I asked for the manager I was told that the manager did not talk to customers. When I explained that everyone must work for someone I was told that it really wouldn't matter what I said because the property manager was her husband. At that point I walked back to my room determined to do all I could to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I called corporate, no answer. I left a voicemail. No call back. I e-mailed three times, no response. Plain and simple, America's Best Value should be called America's Worst Experience. You would be better served sleeping in your car at a rest stop than spending money to stay at this over sized toilet.

Note: I should say that I am a "long time reader, first time poster" and do not normally spend very much time posting on these sites about bad experiences, but I feel duty bound to keep my fellow travelers from this terrible, I repeat terrible motel. Stay Away!

“Absolutely horrible”

The customer service was a bit on the low side at first, the property looked run down on the outside, and we had to move rooms because the first room they put us in was not the room i reserved, plus, it had a roach in it, and damaged furniture, including the TV, and one of the lamps.

The next room was not any better. blood stain on the sheets, bugs in the room, an AC which had a hand-written sign on it " please do not turn all the way up, or leave on for more than an hour at a time, or else it will freeze", no phone in the room, the carpet was filthy, the bathtub had hair in it, the toilet had ****stains in it, the fridge had a half bottle of water in it, i assume from the previous guest, or the housekeeping crew, the wireless internet was horribly slow, and rather than have a WPA encryption that you could just enter the password for one time, they had a redirection page, that you had to enter the unusual, difficult to type password at least once per hour.

My girlfriend and I both got bit by what we feel were bed bugs, and she had to go to the hospital for it, though they couldn't identify what it was that bit her, and just sent us home with anti-itch cream.

The hotel management was unresponsive to my concerns, and corporate headquarters was no help either.

I expected to get some sort of refund, or at the very least a comp at a different property, but no, all they offered was a free return night at the same property. I would not stay there again for anything, and I recommend you avoid this place at all costs.

No comment on the breakfast, or pool, because I didn't try either.

“Filthy”

Americas Best Value Inn Henderson

Oct 3, 2007

I usually don't write reviews as my only expectation in a hotel is cleanliness. I got a room above reception, and here are the facts:
- hair in bathroom all over
- bathtub was plugged by the amount of hair so water did not go down. The tub was still half full the next day.
- mentioned the lack of cleanliness to the guy at reception but did not have any reaction.

If you plan to stay here be prepared that you need a good stomach...
