From the moment we arrived at the resort we were treated as if we were the only guests at the hotel. We were offered a complimentary upgrade to the Regency Club floor which of course we accepted. The staff was receptive to every request we made (the iron was missing in our room, a replacement arrived within five minutes of requesting one). From the front desk staff (Jeff) to the concierge desk workers (David) to the valet (who drove us to dinner in Incline Village and then returned to pick us up within 5 minutes of calling) everyone was great!
A shuttle runs to Diamond Peak every half hour and is only a three minute bus ride away. Lift tickets can be purchased in the hotel so you can head straight to the slopes. The pool temperature was great (80 to 90 degrees) and the hot tubs were great too! It's odd to be in the pool surrounded by snow.
The ride from Reno takes about 40 minutes, and you should allow for a stop atop Mt. Rose as it is the greatest place for a photo op. We booked a ride through the hotel and Jerry met us at the airport. Expect about $100 each way for a cab, but it is the quickest way to the resort. We rented a car at the hotel for the trip back to Reno and I must recommend this. It is also about $100 and it's worth being able to take your time and see other resorts.
