We just returned from 4 nights at NYNY. It was Ok -- we didn't have a bad experience, but we weren't wowed either.
We tried to check in at 2:30pm but were told to come back at 3pm. When we returned at 3pm, they only had rooms available that didn't match our request. In the end, we didn't check-in until 5pm. They happily stored our bags while we gambled away our money while waiting.
Noteworthy:
- The rooms are spacious and clean. Not luxurious, but you get what you pay for.
- The pool area is small... we reserved a cabana but we could have got away with going down ~ 9am to on day of for half the price.
- Currently, there is construction going on in the middle of the gaming floor. There is an unsightly black tarp hanging in the middle of the room. One day we noticed that they were working and making noise, but otherwise it didn't effect us.
- We booked the rooms online and got the Strip View promo. Our room on the 22nd floor had a view of Mandalay Bay, etc. and we could not hear the rollercoaster.
- We enjoyed the Krispy Kreme onsite and Il Fornaio had wonderful lattes and croissants.
- There are no poker tables at this casino resort. That was shocking to us!
Overall, the hotel was good and we really enjoyed Vegas. With so much to do, you don't need to stay in a fabulous hotel to have a good time.
