I stayed at NYNY from 29 june for 7 nights with my boyfriend, we are 27 and 25, last yr we stayed at Mirage and my BF decided to stay here this year and we wasnt disappointed, although the Mirage was more luxurious, the ny ny was more geared for us, lots of facilites and entertainment venues.

The location is good, not too far from anywhere, directly opposite the MGM and you can walk through excal to luxor to mandaley bay too from just across the road.

We had a Park avenue deluxe room overlooking the strip, we paid $35pp for the whole week to upgrade, our room was cleaned everyday and was a good size, plenty of space, we were on 18th floor. Pool area was small but adequate for short time spent there.

Some people on here made remarks regarding the construction work, we didnt find it affected anything, didnt hear any noise, especially from the rooms!, put it this way, I didnt realise their was work until day 4 when we walked by it!! tell me somewhere in Vegas there is no construction work going on!!

Its a fun hotel, we had absolutely no problems at all, would definately stay here again, although I do like going to different hotels, to be honest I dont think it matters where you stay in Vegas, its just a room.

while we were there, we watched Carrott Top who was hilarious, bought half price tickets and thoroughly enjoyed it, also Legends in Concert, where our UK friend was starring as Dusty Springfield, she was amazing and also went to see the Divine Miss Midler, outstanding show!!, she was great, if you like her, you must go watch her.

All in all we had a fabulous 2nd time in vegas, not as rushed as the first time we went, I would love to go back and would recommend the NYNY.

“Just alright...”

New York - New York Hotel and Casino

My husband and I stayed at the NYNY from June 30th until July 4th...

I have to say that the service in general was quite good... we asked for an upgrade and were given a Park Avenue Delux room for a small daily fee ($15)...

Our room was very nice and very clean... (and we are REALLY picky)... That being said, I don't think I would stay there a second time. In this category and price range, the Mandalay Bay is a much better choice in terms of the hotel itself and the grounds...

A big drawback of the hotel is that the pool at NYNY does not see the sun until noon and is not great to begin with in comparison to other hotels. Also, the casino is undergoing some renovations so we never even played a slot machine there! As for the famous rollercoaster - it passed right below our window, but it didn't bother us at all! Mind you, we woke up very early and came back very late - so we were rarely in our room when the roller coaster was running...

The restaurants did not seem as refined as the restaurants we went to at Mandalay Bay, MGM, the Bellaggio and at Caesars... Actually, the ambiance did not even come close....They were just not inviting whatsoever for us...We did have a few breakfast at America and Il Fornaio and they were good.

Next time we go (this was our first Vegas experience) we will be staying at Mandalay Bay or the Bellaggio...

In short, I think this hotel is suitable for families who are looking for a theme park-style hotel or for rowdier twenty-somethings...I agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned that the clientele is somewhat less distinguished (in general) than some of the other hotels close by.

Not horrible, but regretted booking here. An ok place to sleep for us, but nothing more.

“Not happy”

New York - New York Hotel and Casino

What to say about this hotel? Well let me start by repeating something I read some time ago. 'You get what you pay for in Vegas'
I started this trip with stays in the Paazzo and Venetian so its not a good starting point to review this hotel as those are truly luxury and worth every penny.
The NYNY is a little bit tired, the rooms are clean but nothing special, but its difficult to put true feelings into context without sounding snobbish. The whole place is just working class, the bars, the restaurants, the shops and the casino itself (including the multitude of sleezy hookers that roam the casino floor late at night and approach you every 10 minutes)
The most annoying thing about the place is the fact it is circumnavigated by a roller coaster which may be appealing to some. But try listening to the damn thing while in your room as you hear the screams of delight every 1 minute 42 seconds for 16 hours a day (yes I did time it)
The worst of it, try relaxing by the pool as it flies by, it is just impossible to chill at this hotel.
There are far better budget hotels in Vegas, try the Tropicana for one but if you can afford it pay the extra money and stay in luxury, you wont regret it.

New York - New York Hotel and Casino

Arrived back 06 July, after reading some of the reviews we were a bit worried about staying at this hotel, but can honestly say we had a fantastic time. We were in the New Yorker Tower and had particularly asked for a non smoking room on a high floor (after reading a previous review about the noise), we were put on 32nd floor with fantastic views of the strip and the airport. Check in was smooth and we found our room no problem. Our room was cleaned daily, it was spacious and beds comfy. Ok some of the staff had left their smiles at home but they were efficient and polite. There is building work going on in the main area but being on a high floor we weren't disturbed, and the casino/bar areas are noisy but again being on a high floor we had no problems whatsoever. We'd definitely recommend this hotel but would recommend asking for a high floor. The prices in the hotel were dearer than other hotels on the strip though.

“Stay AWAY!!”

New York - New York Hotel and Casino

It was a great stay, if you like construction in the casino (think Jackhammers, cement saws, and heavy equipment) and a crowded pool (very small, very shaded).

when we checked in, we were told no king beds were available, despite paying for an upgraded room to get one. We stayed one horrid night in a saggy queen bed with a direct sight and sound spectacular of the damned roller coaster - so much for a nap to get acclimated to the time zone. Clank, clank, clank, rush rush, scream....

We changed to a king bed on a higher floor the second and third nights, while the room was better, there are serious elevator concerns with the century tower - we waited a minimum of four minutes to get an elevator each time we left the room, and once it was eight minutes. That may not seem like much, but stand in a dark vestibule waiting for an elevator for eight minutes - it is endless.

The spa, while the services were nice, was completely inadequate - for women, if you wanted a hot tub you have to pay $45 for a 30 minute soak - no hot tub or jacuzzi in the facility. The ceilings were low, there was no changing facility, lockers were in a hallway to treatment rooms, so you could change in the hall. My husband said the men's spa had a similar set up, but they had a hot tub for their usage. Odd.

My husband and I travel to vegas a couple of times each year, to get some much needed r&r and "grown up time". This hotel was one to avoid at all costs. We left it feeling frustrated and insulted by the lack of service and consideration, and the lousy facilities.

I had a great time with my husband, and we made the best of it, but shouldn't vegas be about enjoying yourself, not trying to overcome crappy accomodations? We'll head back to mirage or mandalay, lesson learned.
