Did you know non-smoking is "merely a suggestion"???
We booked on their website which made no mention of the fact that by making a non-smoking reservation, we could still end up with smoking room. And once you are already in Mesquite, your options are very limited.
Our intial room was a smoking room right next to the interstate and underneath the bright flashing sign. There were several children screaming loudly next door and the truck traffic sounded like it was headed right for your room.
When we requested a quieter location, they moved us across the street by the parking garage and it was disgusting. The white filtering curtains were brown and crusty. There were burn marks on the floors, the bedspreads, the countertops, toilet, etc. The lamp was broken, the floor in the bathroom was peeling up, the linens were filthy, the shower curtain had gunk on it, the floor had white stains along with the cigarette burns and the room smelled horrible. The hallways were loud all night long and there were screaming kids in the room above us.
We had booked for two nights and had intended to possibly extend to three. Needless to say, we checked out the next morning and headed for cleaner and more pleasant environments.
I would never, ever stay here again.

“Building 5 or bust!”

Oasis Resort, Casino Golf and Spa

I've stayed at the Casablanca and loved it, but reservations informed me that Bldg. 5 at the Oasis is all brand new and nice so I reluctantly said okay because it was less per night plus I knew that the gym was no charge to Oasis' guests. So we get to Bldg. 5 and the room is....well, they should have hired me to do their interior design because if this is the best they can do, then someone did a poor job. It's okay but it's drab and lacking in warmth. The room was newly remodeled like they indicated, but the walk-in shower was pretty small.
I do love the grounds there and the pool and the tennis courts and the gym. You walk out your door and you hear the birds chirping and smell the lovely lilac bushes and for two hours I was the only one at the pool. The gym is very nice for a hotel because I think they sell memberships to locals so it's got a lot of stuff. I would only stay in Bldg. 5. I wouldn't even consider staying in another bldg. The rooms looked nasty when I walked by. They stuck us on the highway side and it was pretty noisy with truckers driving by 24/7, which was very annoying and we tried to move but they said they were full.
The music in the casino was annoying and loud and I couldn't stand it. The staff was very accomodating and I was afraid to eat there but the breakfast buffet was excellent. I don't like buffets but we got it comp'd so I thought we'd try it and it was very clean and the food was fresh.

“[--] Oasis”

The "non smoking" room smelled of smoke, the bedspread was DIRTY, STAINED and had burn holes in it. We had to stay "across the street" which had no access to a pool or hot tub. The buffet selection was "limited". The noise of the "child" running back and forth above us was obnoxious. The hotel clerk should look for a job she enjoys because she obviously doesn't enjoy her job. I requested a balcony - and then was told only suites have balconie ( I was not told this when I made my reservation over the phone). There was no refridgerator, microwave in the room. Even tho the websites SAYS they have refridgerators in the room. The miniture golf course was worn out, water fountains not working - yet was there a discount on the price? NO. Carpeting is worn out - elevator is slow. My boyfriend was charged $99.99 a night - WORST place I have ever stayed and we won't be back.

Our room was spacious but very "worn" I'd guess it was at least two seasons past the time to remodel stage.

The room was reasonably priced, but the motel style entries guaranteed a noisy Friday night.

The hotel location was a giant parking lot, with three large double-decker motel style buildings.

The hotel staff was nice, but I wouldn't stay there again.

Yuck. I was in need of a hotel between Las Vegas and St. George and the Oasis was my choice to stop for one quick night on a business trip. The Oasis rates were cheaper than their sister hotel the Casablanca across the street. "You get what you pay for" still applies. For $29.99 you do get a free grand slam breakfast at the resort Denny's (funny it's called a resort), also for $29.99 you get a room that opens to the exterior walkway, no interior corridors here, so plenty of people wander by your hotel all night (after all it's a casino hotel). Hospital room style paper thin sheets on the beds, questionable marks on the walls and the shower makes you want to go without. In their defense, I didn't do too much research on the hotels and had never stayed in Mesquite before, so I would have gladly paid the extra $40.00 for the rooms at Casablanca across the street. The Casablanca has a sports book, better fine dining restaurant and seems to be clean.
