“6-hour round, blind approach shots, bad service, no fun”

Where do I start? How about that the posted pace of play is 5:17? The views are not nearly as spectacular as the website - Scottsdale is 100 times prettier. I can't understand how Golf Digest ranks this course so highly, it is not in the top 200 that I have ever played.
First of all they never should've built a golf course on such a hilly spot. It is amazing that they were able to, but the result is 12 approach shots where you can only see the very top of the flag. I don't mind that every once in a while, but it gets old after the first six holes are like that. Plus on 8 of 14 drives you can't see the landing area.
But the worst thing has to be the pace of play. It took us 1:45 to play the first five holes. From the sixth tee we could see that the group two ahead of us had two holes open in front of them, so we asked the marshall to talk to them. He said he would, but we were still waiting on them on the 8th hole.
It took 3 hours to play the front nine, and the group two ahead of us was just leaving the 10th tee. So I went in the pro shop to see what could be done. While I was in there two people called on their cell phones from the fourth and seventh hole wondering why play was so slow. I told the lady that the group on #10 was the problem, but she told me that the pace of play is 5:17 and they were on schedule.
If I knew the pace of play was 5:17 I never would've come to this place. But I don't know how a 3:30 nine translates to being on that pace anyway. On the 11th green the marshall told us we were 6 minutes ahead of pace, even though it had taken us 4 hours to play 11 holes! The worst part was how no one on staff cared about the two open holes or the 6+ hour pace.
This was the worst experience I've ever had on a golf course.

I played this course during a recent stay in Las Vegas. The drive was about an hour from the strip and well worth the trip. I would do it again without hesitation. This was one of the most enjoyable courses I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The course was in immaculate condition and I can assure you --you have never played a course quite like Wolf Creek. It was like teeing off a fifteen story building on many of the holes. Yes, play was a bit slow(6 hrs. on Friday morning), but I was enjoying myself so much, I didnt seem to mind. I have played quite a few courses across the country and can honestly say that there are only a few I would make a special trip to play again, this is one of them. If you have the opportunity to play Wolf Creek, it is truly a experience you won't soon forget. Be sure to bring your camera.

“AWESOME EXPERIENCE”

If you want a once in a lifetime golfing experience. You must play Wolf Creek in Mesquite, Nevada. It is a little pricey. But once you arrive at the course, your experience begins. From the friendly staff at the bag dropoff to the professional, courteous proshop staff. To the starter and to the first hole. And then 17 magnificent holes after. You have awesome views on every hole. And the course is as challenging as you want to make it. There are enough tee boxes to suit any caliber of player. I highly recommend playing there.

““One-of-a-kind golf adventure””

Here's the letter I sent the course: "This note is to inform you of my experience at your course of 3/24/07. The staff in the club house & starters where very professional and courteous. I wish I could say the same for your golf course staff.
Our starting tee time (6 of us) was 2pm, but we were able to get out at 1:30pm. It took us 3 and 15 minutes to play 9 holes, and we never saw a course marshal during this time to accelerate the playing time. We were asked to stop playing after number 15, because the maintenance had to being on the course. By this time we had been on the course for 6 hours. It was the most intolerable experience we have ever had on a golf course and the fact we were asked to stop play, after six hours was dumb founded. After playing other courses the area, we heard and were told of similar experiences by others.
You have such “one-of-a-kind golf adventure” it’s a shame it was ruined by a few. I know that my comments will probably not mean much, but I wanted you to know of our experience and obviously we will never play your course again and let others know of our experience also."

PS - Don't waist your TIME and money. Play Falcon Ridge for a postive "golf- adventure". Great course and staff...

“Professionalism”

While on vacation Mesquite, Nevada, we had the opportunity to play five golf courses. One of which was the famed Wolfcreek. This was our second time playing it. We were rather disapointed to say the least. Half way through our golf round, one of the lot attendants advised us that we needed to cease golfing and go speak with the manager about an unknown problem. We went inside and the now on-duty pro began questioning whether or not we even paid to be on his course. He was not remotely professional. Instead of checking with his previous pro and asking him if we had paid, he just assumed we had not. Apparently they only check credit receipts and found none in our names. We paid in cash.

My thought is this, if I am goind to shell out $165.00 for a round of golf, at an areas most premier golf course, I expect a certain level of professionalism. The course manager/pro team was none of the above. Further, one would expect a snack cart of some kind on the course, none here. Even the $50.00 courses have this benefit.

The manager gave the lot attendants two buy one get one free drink tickets and asked him to give them to us. First, everybody gets them after thier round, and second, he should have apologized himself.

The course is in impeccable as always. I was severely disapointed when the management called into question our integrity without checking the facts first. To say the least, it was the worst golf experience I have had to date. PS. the date we played was February 14th, 2007. Thanks
