September 6, 2006 – I had the opportunity to spend one night at the Reno Courtyard for business. I enjoyed my one-night stay!
The hotel is located adjacent to highway 395 only about five miles south of Reno/Tahoe airport.
Check in was typical “Marriott” quick, taking about one minute. I had reserved a king non-smoking room with a request for high floor. My room was #423 on the top floor. It was a little larger than some of the rooms and also had a small walk-out balcony.
The king bed was very comfortable and had five pillows. There was also a queen size sofa bed and coffee table. Lighting in the room was excellent. I had to move the night stand to reach an electrical outlet to plug in my cell phone charger.
I always have work to do in my room and I appreciated the large desk with good lighting and plenty of outlets. High speed internet access is complimentary and worked perfectly. The desk chair was a rocking-swivel office style chair and was very comfortable.
The hotel restaurant is only open for breakfast. Because we left at 5:00 AM, we did not have a chance to try it.
The hotel has a small indoor pool and whirlpool spa. There is a small exercise room adjacent to the pool with the typical machines and a wall-mounted TV. There is a small quest laundry on the first floor across from the exercise room.
There is a PC and printer available for guests to use in the lobby. We made use of it to check-in and print boarding passes for early AM flights.
The hotel is located in a commercial area with numerous restaurants and stores all around it. Most importantly there is a Starbucks within about 100 yards of the hotel entrance! For those needing to buy toothpaste, deodorant, etc. there is a Target Store across the street with a good selection of travel size cosmetics. There is plenty of free parking around the hotel.
For convenience to the airport, access to highway 395, nearby shopping, spotlessly clean rooms, and great service I recommend the Reno Courtyard
