My wife and I stayed at The Lillagaard over Thanksgiving Day weekend. We wished we would have stayed at the local Days Inn.
The outside of the hotel looks nice, but inside, the place is very quirky, filled with old trinkets. Not a comfortable or welcoming place to spend the night.
The entire building feels crooked, you'll never feel like your standing up straight. Our room was spacious, but like the rest of the hotel, wasn't comfortable. The bed was stiff and creaky. The heat in the building was cranked up at night and we had to open all the windows in the room to equal the temperature out.
I had to iron some clothes for a wedding and the ironing board was in a utility room with a bunch of tools and other equipment.
In the morning, breakfast was alright, although the dining area felt cluttered. Too many decorations on the tables and not enough room to eat.
The owners were nice, and they have a nice building, but cosmetically, there's a lot of work needed to make it worth staying at. We usually stay at Select Registry Inns and B&B's and we could definitely notice the decline when staying at a non-SR Inn.
The day of the wedding, my wife and I were zombies from not getting good sleep the night before and couldn't wait to get home to our comfortable bed.
