I really can’t say enough good things about the Marriott Courtyard in Princeton. I am working on a project in the area and have stayed at the Courtyard almost 70 nights in the past few months. I tried 5 other hotels in the area and found this one is the best, and also good value for the money. Yes, I do get a good corporate rate, which includes breakfast, but most of the other hotels offered that as well, and I definitely prefer the Courtyard.
The check in is always a smooth process. I usually ask for a room on the third floor. The rooms are always clean, including the bathrooms. They also do a good job of keeping the common areas clean. One of the things I like is having drapes or curtains that really shut out the outside light. This is often a problem at hotels with brightly lighted parking areas. No problem here, as the curtains really do a good job keeping out the light. Another thing I like is a thermostat that allows good control of the room temperature. At the Courtyard all the rooms have digital thermostats that allow you to select an exact temperature. No old fashioned dial that just says “Warmer/Colder”.
The beds are really comfortable, with many pillows provided. There is an extra blanket and pillow in the drawer of the dresser. The TV provides a good selection of broadcast and cable channels, including HBO.
The indoor pool is another plus. It is small but I make good use of it, as well as the Jacuzzi. The pool area is always clean and there are plenty of towels provided.
The breakfast is another big plus. There is plenty of coffee and juice, fresh fruit, cereal, donuts, muffins, sweet rolls, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. And if that is not enough, there is someone there who will make you a delicious omelet to order. The staff that serves the breakfast is always friendly and courteous.
The Courtyard is also only a few miles from the Princeton Junction station, with frequent trains available into New York’s Penn Station on New Jersey Transit. Several of my stays here involved weekend periods when I was able to make convenient day trips into New York.
