“Good choice in Princeton”

Courtyard by Marriott Princeton

Apr 26, 2008

Stayed one night recently with no complaints. Reasonably priced, spacious rooms. Didn't try the indoor pool, but the kids splashing around seemed to be having fun. Breakfast buffet was well stocked and priced. I think it was 10.99 for all you can eat, including made to order omelettes. A car is a must - you are a short drive from the walkable campus/downtown area, but it's too far away to walk. No experience with other hotels in the area, but I would come back to this one, as long as a have someone to drive me around.

“Great location, great value, great staff”

I really can’t say enough good things about the Marriott Courtyard in Princeton. I am working on a project in the area and have stayed at the Courtyard almost 70 nights in the past few months. I tried 5 other hotels in the area and found this one is the best, and also good value for the money. Yes, I do get a good corporate rate, which includes breakfast, but most of the other hotels offered that as well, and I definitely prefer the Courtyard.

The check in is always a smooth process. I usually ask for a room on the third floor. The rooms are always clean, including the bathrooms. They also do a good job of keeping the common areas clean. One of the things I like is having drapes or curtains that really shut out the outside light. This is often a problem at hotels with brightly lighted parking areas. No problem here, as the curtains really do a good job keeping out the light. Another thing I like is a thermostat that allows good control of the room temperature. At the Courtyard all the rooms have digital thermostats that allow you to select an exact temperature. No old fashioned dial that just says “Warmer/Colder”.

The beds are really comfortable, with many pillows provided. There is an extra blanket and pillow in the drawer of the dresser. The TV provides a good selection of broadcast and cable channels, including HBO.

The indoor pool is another plus. It is small but I make good use of it, as well as the Jacuzzi. The pool area is always clean and there are plenty of towels provided.

The breakfast is another big plus. There is plenty of coffee and juice, fresh fruit, cereal, donuts, muffins, sweet rolls, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. And if that is not enough, there is someone there who will make you a delicious omelet to order. The staff that serves the breakfast is always friendly and courteous.

The Courtyard is also only a few miles from the Princeton Junction station, with frequent trains available into New York’s Penn Station on New Jersey Transit. Several of my stays here involved weekend periods when I was able to make convenient day trips into New York.

“Good rooms”

Courtyard by Marriott Princeton

4 of 5 stars
Washington, DC
Aug 18, 2007

We stayed at this hotel in Aug 2007 with my Marriott rewards points. The stay was excellent and the beds were the upgraded beds. The room was very clean and nice. Check-in and check-out were with no issues. The room had a balcony which was very nice. The check-out staff "Mr. Syed" was very helpful with directions.
I'd stay here again if I'm in the area.

“Great staff and hotel”

Courtyard by Marriott Princeton

Jul 12, 2007

Our family has traveled a lot this summer combining business with family events and so we have stayed at several hotels. The Courtyard is where we stay when we are in Princeton for several reasons:
1. Location. The Courtyard is convenient to Princeton though not in walking distance to the University (only about two hotels are). The Courtyard is located on the dreaded Route 1 (if you have ever driven Route 1 you know what I am talking about), but you do not have to stay on Route 1 very long.
2. Restaurants.
A Ruby Tuesday's is next-door and a very, short walk. Other restaurants deliver to the hotel.
3. Very friendly staff. The staff had an available room and allowed us to check-in early.
4. Convenience. For those of you who are traveling for extended periods of time, you will welcome their laundry center. It has a coin-operated washer and dryer.
5. Pool. It has a very nice indoor pool.

“Typical Courtyard-fine place to stay”

Courtyard by Marriott Princeton

Jun 20, 2007

Stayed one night on business. Very typical Courtyard which is a compliment as most Courtyards offer good, clean, quality amenities at a decent price. Room was clean and bed was comfortable,. Plenty of parking. Two negatives-my room faced US 1 and the downshifting of the 18 wheelers approaching a nearby stoplight was clearly heard in the room so beware if you are super sensitive, although it didn't distrub my sleep. Second, when I went for the breakfast buffet no server ever came to my table and I had to ask the hostess for my check. This was unacceptable as the restaurant was very quiet when I was there.
