“Unbelievable hotel & experience”

What a tremendous experience!! Location, pool, physical layout of hotel, uniqueness of rooms, view, personalization of service.... we could go on and on. After having visited Mykonos - which was a bit of a letdown - Santorini, Oia and Pervolas more than made up for it. We did not want to leave!!! The rooms - which are referred to as houses (which they used to be) are built in the caves of the hillside, overlooking the caldera and the Aegean Sea . Each one is different, unique, creatively decorated, and extremely spacious and comfortable. Some have private pools, all are very well equipped with huge patios and to die for , mesmerizing views!! Food and beverage quality - especially for such a small, intimate property - was excellent - compliments to the Chef. Reception staff extremely helpful - all staff very friendly. If you want relaxing - this is it! Service was very personal and attentive without being over bearing. You set the tone of your stay and the staff respects and accommodates your wishes. Pervolas is family owned with a personal involvement of the owner to assure everything is flawless - aesthetically, service, meeting guest needs, etc. The town of Oia is a very short stroll and is a quaint, comfortable village. The peaceful and tranquil atmosphere at Pervolas is special and hard to describe - brings new meaning to the magic of the Greek islands!!

My family and I spent five days at the Perivolas in May and we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is unlike any other hotel we have ever stayed at and by far the best. The staff could not have been any more helpful and the accomodations were perfect. The showers are indeed a bit tricky but with some planning and thinking ahead, no big deal.
We would highly recommend this beautiful resort to anyone looking for a little piece of paradise.

My husband and I recently stayed at Perivolas on our honeymoon and this hotel is by far the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed at. I previously worked in the hotel industry, and we have had the great fortune of traveling and vacationing to some great 5 star hotels - but this one tops our list. The hotel pictures on their website do not do the views justice, as they are truly breathtaking and need to be seen to be believed. The hotel rooms are minimal in their amenities - no TV, no iron, the bathrooms are very small, but we were prepared for this as we had read previous reviews and were looking forward to the true "traditional cave like housing".
As much as we enjoyed our stay here, and have not stopped taking about it since we left - it would not be a true review if we did not share some of the areas to be aware of - our bathroom did not have a seperate enclosed shower, so you are showering in a corner of the bathroom, and water gets everywhere and makes the entire bathroom wet. There are many stray cats and dogs throughout Greece, so it is not uncommon to have them begging for food while eating. We actually had to chase a cat out of our room as we left the door to our room open while sitting on the balcony.
I can understand the few (and there are only a few) negative reviews on tripadvisor, as with a 5 star hotel one does expect a certain level of service and luxury - but we feel what makes this hotel a 5 star hotel and a must stay - is the completely different style rooms, the small, quiet way they do things, and of course the amazing views.

I've been to many places, and this is hands-down, no question, my favorite. I think it will be hard to ever beat. HIghly recommend if you are looking for beauty and relaxation. The "rooms" are actually like white caves carved into the mountainside, and couldn't be more tastefully decorated. The people are beyond gracious, and the views are stunning. There have been so many times when I've seen pictures of places, and when you actually arrive it is obvious that the "ugly" parts have been cropped out. Not so here. The gorgeous photographs you see are indicative of what to expect. A+++++++

My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon last year. I know it's late, but I just have to write a review about this place, as I have not stopped thinking about this hotel since I left. The view itself is simply amazing. The grounds are tastefully decorated. We felt so tranquil and serene here. No noise, no kids, no "all-inclusive" people. Just our cave and the view. And the pool of course. It was a wonder in itself, just sitting down outside our room in the morning, sipping coffee, reading, talking. As for the staff, they seemed fine. Didn't have too much interaction with them, which is fine. I really don't understand any negative reviews.
