Beachwood made a lot of sense for us because of its location, and there are certainly plenty of choices when it comes to hotels- everything from a Super 8 to a Hilton. Wanting to save a little money but not spend the night in a dump (friends had told us the Super 8 was a miserable place), we opted for the Holiday Inn.
The lobby is nice and the woman behind the front desk was very friendly... and accomodating since we were checking in an hour before the posted check-in time. The room was decent, but was clearly in need of a renovation. The carpeting was worn, the furniture had clearly seen better days and the room decor was very sparse. However, the the air conditioning worked fine, the bathroom was above average and the king-sized bed was clean and extremely comfortable.
There are likely better hotels in the Beachwood area but the Holiday Inn was a good choice for $100/night (including taxes). Beachwood is a good choice in general because of its location near many major highways and its abundance of tourist-friendly businesses like convenience stores are restaurants.
