Since we thought that long wait times would mean great food, we elected to endure a 2 hour wait to eat here. What a disappointment! The food was average at best (although the hush puppies were wonderful!). There is a mediocre salad bar, and the entrees were not memorable. I had fried shrimp, which had a funky taste. My daughter had broiled seafood, which looked overcooked. Our service was good, but I would not recommend this restaurant.

The only negative is that it is small and there are long waits unless you go VERY early or VERY late. Great Salad Bar, Hush Puppies, Popcorn, and Seafood... YUM!!!!!

In the past, we have enjoyed meals at Joe's Bar and Grill in North Myrtle Beach. Since we had plans for visiting Brookgreens Gardens for the afternoon, we decided to try Drunken Jacks. We arrived around 3:30 pm and had drinks and a wonderful seafood sampler appetizer. Their margaritas are addictive. The sampler was large enough for meal.

At 4:30, we were seated by a friendly staff member. The view of the marshes, birds, ducks, and peacocks was breathtaking.
The salad bar was fresh and appetizing. The combination seafood platter and flounder platter had over-sized portions.
The hush puppies were not the traditional southern fare, but
the Yankee hush pupplies and honey butter was a great hit with my husband. The key lime pie was a wonderful ending to a culinary and scenic delight. This will be my new favorite restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area.

If you like cold soup and rude service, this is the place for you! My husband and I went there for lunch on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. There were very few diners there. The waitress could be described as surly at best. I also observed that she was lazy, as other servers were working rings around her. She did take great pains to tell the couple at the table behind us (locals) about a steak restaurant she works at in the evenings and how good it is, apparently steering folks away from the place she works at lunch!! We were seated at a table with a great view. The She Crab Soup was served at a temperature best described as tepid. The taste, however, was wonderful! If the waitress had come back before serving the entree, I would have asked for the soup to be reheated, but no such luck. The Shrimp Salad was acceptable, my husband's Oyster Po Boy was good he said. If the service had been up to par, we might give this place another chance. But, after our experience, I think we'll pass. Too many other places to try in Murrells Inlet!!
