Imagine a secluded beach. Imagine a quiet, pristine property solely there to offer you a luxurious retreat from your stressful life. Imagine a place where you can relax in silence but also become part of a special group of family and friends.
Marblue's hosts and owners, Andrea and Axel, provide an upscale property catering to your every whim. I was overwhelmed by the top notch service and gourmet food. Previous reviews, although wonderful, certainly couldn't have prepared me for how special this vacation would be.
The rooms are posh. We stayed in a top floor Verandah suite..and how sweet it was. The bedroom has A/C and opens to an incredibly large open-air verandah. My husband and I spent hours on the ceiling fan cooled verandah, being lulled by the ocean's song as we relaxed and read books or just stared endlessly into the beautiful clear blue sea. We even fell asleep a few times on the comfy day bed which is covered in an exotic zebra print, sexy! The king size bed is very comfortable and we also were treated to extra large, plush and sumtuous cotton towels made right in Kingston. (Gotta find out how I can buy a couple of those.)
My husband and I felt like we were on a second honeymoon here, dare I say it was even nicer than our honeymoon in Sandals Jamaica and St. Lucia.
If you're a beach person, the ocean directly in front of the hotel is very rocky, make sure you have ocean shoes with you. We walked about 5 minutes towards the right of the property and had a beach almost to ourselves. This section of the beach is shared with fishing and day excursion boats. It's also just a 10 minute walk to Jake's and Jack Sprats from there.
The area is very safe. We had previously stayed in Negril and I couldn't sleep at night for fear of someone breaking into the room. I had not one worry about that at Marblue. Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth is a very quiet, laid back town.
The staff was wonderful. Ask Jonathan to make you a homemade Pina Colada, you’ll never drink a mix again! Like a 5 star restaurant, my water glass was constantly filled. We were seved exotic dishes like oxtail (never in my life would I have imagined salivating over oxtail!). We were lavished with delicious and exquisitly prepared meals including Ahi Tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes, garlic basted lobster tail and ginger glazed lamb...Oh soooo good!
During the day, we walked to Jack Sprats for lunch and drinks. They’re a little pricey for lunch, but the food was great. There’s a little restaurant just less than a 5 minute walk from the property in a little shopping center (not much shopping there) that’s great and very affordable. We were escorted a few times by Taboo, the owners' dog. Taboo is a great tour guide and added a great deal of joy to our trip. He's a wonderful dog, very sweet and fun to play with. He even went swimming with us one day!
I hope to get the chance to stay at Marblue again. Andrea was very accommodating; she made sure we were taken care of and that she did. The pools, rooms and grounds are immaculate. Besides being spoiled at Marblue and enjoying the scenery, I’ll mostly miss the friends we made, I really felt like a part of the family by the time left. Axel’s food is amazing and he’s working on a cookbook, which I can’t wait to buy when it comes out. I really left a little piece of my heart at Marblue, my "Disneyland".
