Check in was fine, but I wasn't told that an Oceanview room, means from the right corner of my balcony I could see the ocean but if you looked out the balcony straight, I was staring at a BRICK WALL!! After complaining, the next day they moved me to the Oceanfront view which was awesome...We stayed in a 1 bedroom, ample room for 2 adults and 2 kids, the rooms were clean, service was okay. The constant badgering of the salespeople to sell u a timeshare was a bummer! Rockfish was delicious, but u have to love seafood...prices were average... I would recommend a stay there, but ask for OCEANFRONT not OCEANVIEW!!

We arrived well before noon and our room for Saturday night was ready. The folks at the desk and everyone connected with the hotel were quite nice. The room, 601 B i think, would have been a bit small for a lengthy stay but was perfect for one night. We filled out the inventory and found a couple of plates missing. The room has a small fridge and a microwave and a standard size coffee pot. They have the Speed channel!! A DVD player is also connected. A nice greeting was on our voicemail that welcomed us. The soap, shampoo and lotion provided are above average. At times there was a long wait for the elevators. The pool and excercise room looked nice but we didn't closely scrutinize them. The drains in the sinks were a little slow and the shower head was very plain. The carpets were plush and comfortable. The biggest drawback is the room air conditioner. When you're in bed the air blows on the leg of the person who is lying next to it. There was a very brief power outage that disrupted elevator activity so we walked up the stairs once. We were looking forward to going to the restaurant but it was closed for repairs. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

We found this hotel on foot after we almost checked into another hotel...good thing we didn't go with the first hotel. The Boardwalk is awesome. The room we had was a condo with a kitchen. The room was very clean and comfortable. Roomy and bright. Two full wall windows overlooking the beach, one with a balcony, the staff was fabulous and the Rock Fish Restaraunt is great. Food great! It was the best getaway vacation I've ever had...only because of the hotel though. Virginia beach itself was a bore...not much to do....if it weren't for the hotel it would have been a big waste of a trip, but the hotel was that good. I loved it and so did my husband. I found a butcher a couple miles away from the hotel and made us a steak dinner and that was awesome too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay that is a great setting and give you private time and time together....we made some great memories there.

We have owned here (bought pre-construction - good deal but took a risk) and have come 3 times since 2002. We've exchanged a couple of times for other locales.

We stayed May 25-June 1 over the memorial day weekend & it was fantastic. Hubby, wife, 2 kids (5 and 4 months) and gramma. I was worried things had gone downhill from reading the other reviews, but the management must have seen and taken note of the info here because we could not have been happier with the staff. Our room was ready when we arrived, and they were helpful with anything we needed. The Housekeeping ladies were particularly nice! We didn't pay the extra fee to get cleaning, but they brought us anything we called for (tp, towels) promptly. Anytime we got in an elevator with a staff member they were pleasant to us.

We own a 1 bedroom and all of the owner units (1 bedrooms anyway) are ocean front. We were on the 9th floor and had a great view. The unit was in good repair with the basic amenities. The kitchen is well stocked and we used it extensively. We had everything we needed to cook in 3 nights and almost always did sandwiches for lunch at the beach. My only complaint would be the storage/closet space is tight. Of course, I am a chronic overpacker who brought 3 x what we actually needed so it could just be me.

Another drawback is that there is only an indoor pool at the Boardwalk. When we bought we were told we could share amenities (outdoor pool is a BIG deal to us) with Turtle Cay which is about 10 blocks away (we drive there and parking is available -metered). Anyway, the staff at Turtle Cay hasseled us a little but ultimately let us use the outdoor pool. Its a really nice pool actaully 2 pools, one which doesn't exceed 3 feet anywhere so perfect for kids.

I LOVE the location. You are right at the fishing pier, there is a very small but perfect for little kids carnival next door, dairy queen on the other side. The 17th street stage with live music is right there. Nice and I think music stops at 10pm at the latest. We never had a problem with noise. There were fireworks one evening while we were there. The beach is clean and lovely. There is also a "handicap accessible" walk to the left that is MUCH easier to drag all your stuff out to the beach on. Just a little tip.

We ate at Rockfish, the Boardwalk's restaurant one night, and it was good. Not great, but good value and we were comfortable taking our kids there. Very nice outside seating area right on the boardwalk. Great for people watching. We also ate at Catch 31 a more upscale restaurant at another sister property, the Ocean Beach Club and it was very good! More expensive and we wouldn't take the little ones, but very yummy.
