We are a family of four that includes two teenage boys. We stayed here in April, 2008 for one week in unit B204, a corner unit and found it to be perfect. The condo was very clean, had updated furnishings and was on the ocean. Ocean front views out of both the living area and the master bedrooom.

Beach in front of condo isn't very big and we didn't use it as it was too small and not really good for swimming. We spent most of the days going to different beaches, surfing, snorkeling and touring around the Island. The condo was the perfect place to come back to re-group, relax and watch the sunsets.

Location is a 10 minute drive to Kannapali and another 5 minutes or so to Lahaina.

Grounds were clean and the Pool area although small was very nice with a couple of BBQ's available.

Only downside was was lack of internet in the room. They have wireless available but only in the lobby area so you have to walk down and sit at a few tables set up to access the internet. Would have been much better to have internet in the room so you could sit on the Lanai and sip Mai Tai's while doing emails.

As a family we all agreed we would stay here again and in fact we are already looking towards next April for our next trip..

We stayed at the Hololani from Sept 1-11 2007. It was everything that we were expecting and more. Even tho it is under outside construction, it was not a problem for us. We mostly were gone during the working hours of the day and when we would return in the evening the workers were already gone. The spacious 2 bedroom condos were plenty of room for 4 adults. And the Lanai is so nice and lots of room. We would definatly go back there. It has a smaller pool but plenty big, because when we were out there we were usually the only ones in it. The beach was nice and since it is on the end of the beach we mostly had it to ourselves too. Restaurants are close by, and walking distance to a store and other shops. The front desk ladies are the best, so friendly. They even checked us in ath the airport online the morning we had to leave. Cant wait to return to paradise.

We stayed in unit B-204 from May 10th to 17th. We couldn't believe the awesome views when we opened the door. The condo exceeded our expectations. We could'nt of asked for a nicer place to stay on our 1st trip to Maui. It was so nice and clean and welcoming. It was so relaxing to just to sit out on the lanai and watch the sunsets and ocean. The pool was nice for swimming and they had grills to cook on. They kept the grounds,the pool and grills cleaned everyday. The Hololani mangement was so nice. There were good eating places nearby.
The beach was good for walking and our condo was oceanfront.
There was no air conditiioning but you didn't need it. It was great just having the ceiling fans going, the winds blowing thru and the sounds of the ocean. The condo had everything you needed. If we return to Maui again we will definitely stay at the Hololani.

We stayed in unit A-601 which we rented through VRBO. It was a beautiful unit and well-maintained with many updates. Our view of the ocean was wonderful, and we saw quite a few whales.

As another person mentioned, part of the pool deck is under construction - the result of a nasty storm last winter. However, this wasn't an inconvenience at all. There was still plenty of room.

Kahana beach is not a great beach when compared to the many other beaches on Maui. However, you can swim there, and there were a few snorkelers, though I doubt they saw much. There is not enough beach to lay out on, but we always drove to other beaches anyway. Not a big deal.

While we rented directly through the condo owner, I wouldn't hesitate to rent through Hololani management. From what we could tell, they do their best to keep the property well-maintained and clean. Our interactions with staff were always pleasant. These condos are nice, clean, quiet, and have a great view! I would definitely rent there again.
