I took the MBTA “T” subway from Logan airport, Blue Line to the Orange Line and got off at the stop Downtown Crossing….just $2. Taxi can run you as much as $25 from previous trips….the “T” is better during bad weather and it was snowing heavily when I arrived in Boston. I checked into the Hyatt at around 9:00 am on Feb 27th not expecting a room to be ready this early in the morning and was surprised to find one was available. The front desk staff was very pleasant and offered me a corner room on the 14th floor. The room was updated, very clean and nicely decorated. The corner room had a sitting area with couches, large television and work desk. The separate bedroom had its own television, large King bed with lots of pillows and big down comforter. The bathroom was very clean with all the usual amenities. They have a Stay Fit workout center that is very nice and a bit of a hike to get to so consider this a warm-up workout. Plenty of equipment, some free weights, treadmills and ellipticals…etc. They have a small lap pool and locker room.
I had breakfast three mornings at the restaurant in the lobby. I ordered off of the menu instead of the free buffet that came with my room and the food was excellent and so was the service. (Egg white omelet with mozzarella is the Best!!) Also had dinner one night at the Avenue One restaurant in the hotel…..amazing food and lots of attention from the servers, you won’t be disappointed.
The Hotel is between Newbury and Faneuil Hall and a quick walk to the commons. There is a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts just up the street at the corners of Tremont and Boylston streets for those needing their fix.
