“Great Hotel”

Hyatt Regency Boston

4 of 5 stars
Kansas City
Apr 6, 2008

The downtown Hyatt was located great in the center of downtown Boston. We walked everywhere, never taking the subway and only taking a taxi to and from the airport. The hotel was very clean, they had doorman at all hours of the day. The staff was very courteous and the concierge gave excellent restaurant recommendations. I would recommend seeing a Celtics game, Fenway Park, and eating at the Oyster House. Overall the hotel was great, we couldn't have asked for a better location and cleaner hotel.

“Thieves, drug dealers, perverts”

Hyatt Regency Boston

1 of 5 stars
durham, nc

Let me start out by saying that the hotel is beautiful, but the staff and the neighborhood ruin it. I stayed at this hotel for five nights for a business function held in the hotel.

Early in the week some of our business supplies were stolen out of the room assigned to us by the hotel staff. We made management aware of the problem. What happened? More expensive things were stolen later in the week.

About the same time we were dealing with this, a couple of men were caught having sex in the lobby bathroom. Then we find out that this is an ongoing problem in the hotel!!!! Do they put an attendant in the bathroom to discourage this behavior? No.

Now, when you walk out on the street be prepared to be greeted with drug dealers from the numerous subway entrances and homeless people from the SEVERAL homeless shelter near the hotel.

If you are planning on spending the money I would say move closer to quincy market and farther from Boston commons.

“Great Place to Stay After a Show”

Hyatt Regency Boston

4 of 5 stars
Chelmsford, MA
Mar 31, 2008

We stayed at the Regency the night of a mid-week showing of a musical at the Opera House. The location was perfect for our needs. It had begun snowing during the show and walking only a block to our room instead of having to deal with the torturous ride home was sheer bliss.

The room was spacious, clean, quiet and inviting. The beds were luxurious. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The only downsides were the lack of a room safe (very odd in a city hotel), wireless Internet as the only option (no IEEE connection in our room; however, there are rooms that have it), and the temperature control didn't work so the room was colder than comfortable (for me ... H didn't mind) for most of the night.

The staff was VERY friendly; always smiling and helpful (reminded me of Disney World :). The common areas smelled great and had nice soothing music. The hotel restaurant had above average food and service for a hotel, so there was no need to go anywhere else for dinner before the show.

I would stay at the Regency for a show again, although next time I would ask for a business room.

“Nice hotel”

Hyatt Regency Boston

Mar 26, 2008

Spent a big we-end there with my wife.
Not much to say, everything was perfect especially for the very (should I say extraordinary :) ) price we had through Priceline (65$ a night !).

Nice and helpful staff, nice position, huge rooms, very nice beds.
Slightly impersonal, but you can't have everything... :)

Let's start off by saying, I am a travel agent and I book people in hotel rooms all day, everyday, and this hotel, I would recommend to any client. It is great for everyone, teenagers, children, getaways, basically anyone. It has live entertainment down at the bar downstairs it also has 2 restaurants you can choose from, room service until 11pm. Beautiful lobby, amazing staff, I do suggest when you go there if you want to use a phone to call back home - do not use the hotel phones, they obviously cost you more - dont use the payphones either you insert .25usd and then you get 1minute then asks you to insert 1.00 - best thing to do is get a phone card! you can get them at the gift shop right beside the lobby OR go to the 711. This hotel was great location downtown, never had to chase a taxi down. For the fajita lovers like myself, try the Fajita and Ritas its only about two blocks away it has the best fajitas and margaritas also it is dirt cheap I got fajitas and 2 margaritas and my friend got chicken quesadilla and 2 margaritas and our bill together was under 40.00usd which was the best!!! Also, when you are at the hotel you can get a complimentary upgrade to a business room which is well worth it - wonderful view of downtown boston, if your a shower person you will love this one - huge walk in shower with really hot water :) nothing but the best! For room service I wouldnt suggest it unless you have money it is really expensive. Just go to the front desk and ask them if they have menus for restaurants that are open during the night (after hours). Overall, ths is a great hotel for anyone, if you want to meet celebrities, this is the best way, lots of them stay at this hotel! Overall anyone who stays here will be impressed :) ENJOY!
