We stayed here during our first time in Boston. The room was lovely, spacious, immaculate and had a wonderful view. It was just around the corner from great shopping and historic sites. We loved Boston and this hotel!!

“Great hotel for the price”

Hyatt Regency Boston

My husband and I were looking for a quick, one-night stay in Boston. Priceline provided a great price for the Hyatt Regency, one block from the Boston Common. We had an above-average experience,at a great price for the location. The block that the hotel is on isn't terribly picturesque, situated at the end of Downtown Crossing, but it's within walking distance of most major spots -- including the theater district, Back Bay, Boston Common and the Public Gardens. Front desk staff was courteous, check in was easy. Our room was small but looked as though it had been recently upgraded, and was attractively furnished. King bed was incredibly comfortable. Anthony, the concierge, was helpful and friendly. There are certainly more luxurious accomodations in Boston, but probably none more attractively priced in such a central location. I'd definitely stay there again.

“Excellent service that surpasses the facilities”

Hyatt Regency Boston

5 of 5 stars
Vancouver BC

3night stay for a University graduation. Location downtown which
has convenience benefits and downtown negatives.
Not 5th ave NYC downtown..more like city core ambience.
Something that is beyond the hotel's control.

Close to Boston Commons and the tour and bus information
centre. Walking distance to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market.
Half a block to the T(subway). Washington Street for
MOR shopping half a block away. Higher end shopping
at Copley Place a short walk away.

Older property, well kept and clean and bright. Not renovated to
the current Hyatt new look of slate floor and dark woods found
in international Hyatt properties. Satisfactory but not outstanding
physical plant. Limited F& B. A lobby lounge with small intimate
dining room and another larger dining room across the lobby.
Street entrance requires navigating a separate elevator from
the 2nd floor lobby to ground floor entrance(and the parking lot)
Then stairs from there onto the actual street./pedestrian entrance. Not convenient for dragging luggage or strollers but
not a severe hindrance. Doormen present to assist.

Double room fair size bright and clean. Wired and wireless
internet connection for USD9.95/day. Smallish bathroom
with good quality toiletries/amenities. Shower/tuib combination.
No in room safe. Smallish closet. bank of 6 drawers under
the TV. Medium size desk. One chair and round table. Standard
coffee maker and bar fridge.

Service is what made our stay enjoyable. Front desk staff
friendly and warm. Lounge servers and wait staff in dining room
were faultless. Too often one asks for something and waits
long for the execution or have to remind/re request. Not here
ask once it is is done with alacrity. Doormen greeted our exits and entrances genuinely. And when 5 people appeared at the
bottom of the stairs at the street entrance with rollerboards and
suitcases the lone doorman sprang into action insisting we leave them all for him to bring up. We didnot have to
get his attention..he was there for the guests.

Two requests for housekeeping was met within half an hour.
Too often one waits long much too long. Not at this Hyatt.
Other reviewers had remarked on the thinness of the walls.
I had to ring Front Desk to ask they have a neighouring room
turn down the TV volume. The F.D. said they would send up
hotel security. Shortly after the fone rang in the offending
room. No change to TV volume. 1 minute or 2 later the fone
rings a second time and the TV is turned off.
We received a voice message from the duty manager that night
to speak with him in the a.m. When I did, he was most apologetic and offered to remove our internet charges and
also proffered a full breakfast voucher. I have stayed in hotel
rooms where noise was a problem...but the Hyatt's reponse
and follow through here was impressive. And their concern for
our comfort and satisfaction is indicative of their high service standards.

Big city hotels . Downtown hotels too often service their clientele
on autopilot and lip service. We never felt that during our stay.

Sure the physical plant and surroundings are not stellar. The F& B have to compete in a city of fabulous restuarants. Service is this Hyatts's 4stars.

“Weird Hotel”

Hyatt Regency Boston

May 12, 2008

Staff were nice enough, rooms were normal, but nothing special. European feel to the hotel. Very strange hotel. Seemed that no other guests were there until 2:30am when were were awoken by our neighbors "bedroom" activities. Common areas were empty. Had a hard time finding the check-in desk, the pool, the door to the outside, the door to get back into the hotel. i guess the hotel needs more signs. There are these long weird corridors that you need to walk down to go anywhere. Hallways seem to go on forever and then have stairs every now and then with no ramps. Not recommended for people who have strollers, people who cannot walk far or climb stairs or who are in wheelchairs. Also was a very powerful aroma in the lobby areas (not in the rooms though) so not advised for people who are sentitive to perfumes. Rooms were acceptable but definitely not what the hotel website describes. Beds are nothing special, just a feather mattress pad over a plain old mattress. They look comfy but feel mediocre. Our 6th floor city view room was an up-close view of another building's roof "junk". Kept the drapes closed. Rust around tub drain and rust stains in the grout. Just rust, but still made me queasy when I had to bathe my toddler. Hair was stuck to the paint on the ceiling in the bathroom. Nice to have robes in the room though and the soaps were nice. Pool liner also seemed to be rust-stained. No hot tub. Overall, I was mostly horrified by the X-rated noises from the next-door room. I was with my mother and toddler for a Mother's Day weekend! This hotel is not as close to the attractions as others. We found one closer and quieter and left after one night.

“Perfect Location, Great Hotel”

Hyatt Regency Boston

I was visiting a friend in Boston and she recommended the Hyatt Regency Dowtown. It ended up being a perfect choice. Close to so many of the things I wanted to see and do. I was walking distance from Faneuil Hall, Charlestown, the North End, Boston Commons and so much more. We went out to eat at a couple great restaurants that were just a few minutes away. We even ended up seeing a show at the Opera House, just steps outside the front door of the Hyatt.

Overall, the service was excellent, location...perfect and who can deny the luxury of that magnificent bed. And I can't forget to mention the Eucalyptus Steam room that was a nice treat after a long day of exploring. I highly recommend this hotel.
