stayed here for 3 nights in Nov/07.
THE GOOD: interesting little (100 rooms or so) hotel with a boutique feel. nice quirky rooms, all are different, as this was originally an apt. building (built about 100 years ago). Windows are large and they open. Get a room higher up if noise bothers you as this is right downtown. Great location very close walk to the subway and lots of restaurants and upscale shops. Compared to other hotels nearby (the Lenox, etc), your money goes a little further here. Staff seems genuinely pleasant, not just going through the routines. Rooms were done in 2004 but are holding up well. Bathroom was large with lots of clean towels, granite counters, strong water pressure in the shower and toiletries of a quality that you would expect from a mid-scale chain. free use of internet in the lobby and free cookies/fruit in the afternoon at the front desk.
Breakfast buffet has sufficient choices and the kitchen and service staff did a great job of keeping everyone happy. Even the cook came out to see if we needed anything.
THE BAD: a few too many stray hairs on the bathroom floor (which always drives me crazy). An extra blanket in the closet would have been nice, as our room was cold, especially when you sat next to the window.
it was my second visit here and hopefully if we go back to Boston, we will stay here again
