“Great time at the Jurys”

Jurys Boston Hotel

Apr 13, 2008
2/2 found this review helpful

Just got back from a 6 night stay in Boston at Jurys hotel in early April, staying in a deluxe double room with my husband and 9 year old daughter.

The hotel is very good. Room was plenty big enough with free internet access which we found extremely useful - for booking restaurant tables, checking opening times for attractions and checking in to our return flight online. We had a laptop but there are computers available downstairs if needed.

Location is very good. We walked to the waterfront (Aquarium & Childrens Museum) on the first day which is just a little bit too far, especially with a child, but we quickly found the T very easy to use and only just around the corner from the hotel. It also meant we explored Newbury Street & Trinity Church which we may not have done if further away from Back Bay.

We had breakfast in the hotel on 3 mornings but other days just went to Au Bon Pain next door to Arlington T Station which was fine when we didn't need a big meal. If having breakfast in house, the buffet is best value - you can order waffles with the buffet & they were great!

Staff at the hotel were all very friendly and there are various dining options all very close by as well as the bar or restaurant at the hotel itself.

Heartily recommended!

“No Coffeemaker”

Jurys Boston Hotel

Apr 12, 2008

While the location was very convenient, there was no coffeemaker in the room. We asked for one, and initially were told one would be brought up, but half an hour later, the story changed. They had all been taken out of the rooms and none was available. This turned out to be quite inconvenient for me, an early riser. My husband and I also enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon, but that was not available either. We had to walk 4-5 city blocks on a blustery spring day to find a cup of tea at an Au BonPain. This is a standard amenity in other hotels. We won't stay there again because this simple convenince is not available.

There was also a lot of thumping bass noise from the basement bar until quite late at night.

“Amazing time at the Jurys Boston Hotel”

Jurys Boston Hotel

I stayed at the Jurys Boston Hotel for a week at the end of March with my boyfriend and had an absolutely incredible time. It was my boyfriends first time in Boston whereas I was returning after 11 years from having lived their previously. We had an incredible week and were very sad to leave.
The Jurys Hotel was by far one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed at a fair few. The hotel staff were very friendly and very accommodating through-out the whole trip. The room was lovely, some have said the rooms were quite small but I thought it was a great size. Everything about it was wonderful. We had breakfast in the hotel a couple of times, we didnt have the buffet as we didnt think we could possibly eat enough food to justify spending $18. But what we did have was great.
It's in an absolute perfect location for everything, a two minute walk from the 'T' station, some great restaurants in the area, one especially great meal was at the Bonfire Steakhouse, a bit on the pricey side but so so worth it. We had a great night there.
The complimentary internet in the Jurys business centre was very useful as it was the only means of communication with some friends I had in the area. We had drinks in the bar Cuffs a couple of times too, it had a great atmosphere and we weren't disturbed by it at night at all.
I don't have a negative thing to say about our stay at the Jurys, and when we go back to Boston we will definately be staying with them again.

“Comfy room; great service; reasonable price”

I stayed at Jury's Boston on a biz trip for a conference - three nights. Booked through Orbitz at average cost of $267 per night.

Check-in was smooth and very pleasant, with hot towel at the reception desk. Lobby isn't incredibly fancy, but decent. Halls on room floors are very nice, brightly lit, etc. Room was spacious, with very comfortable bed and complimentary mineral waters (2 per day). Complimentary internet was both wired and wireless in the room (I prefer wired).

Service was very pleasant on occasions when I sought help.

I had breakfast via room service - nothing special, and I can't judge the restaurant based on it.

I plan to go back for a pleasure stay some time.

“Wonderful Hotel, Great Location”

Jurys Boston Hotel

5 of 5 stars
San Francisco

I stayed at the Jurys with my 17 yo daughter for 4 nights in Feb/08 and loved the hotel. The room was extremely comfortable, if a little small, but the bathroom quite spacious. The beds, luxurious sheets and towels, heated towel rack, and L'Occitane toiletries made us feel pampered. The best thing about the Jurys for us was the location! Three blocks from Newbury Street, within easy walking distance to Copley Place, Back Bay, the Public Garden, and Downtown Crossing made the Jurys the ideal hotel for us. Public transportation could not have been easier: less than 2 blocks from Arlington Station on the Green Line, within 4 blocks of South Station on the Orange Line which is also the Back Bay stop for Amtrack. A Hertz rental car facility was only a couple blocks away near the Park Plaza Hotel. In short, a wonderful base from which to explore the Boston area. While the location is fairly quiet in the evening, the Jurys' hotel bar is quite popular and filled with revelry every night. We asked for a quiet room and never heard a peep from the crowds in the bar. It wasn't until our last day that I discovered the spacious and comfortable sitting area in the hotel lobby. It's separate from, and off to the left of, the check-in area.
