“Recently renovated resort---money well spent!”

Rancho Bernardo Inn

5 of 5 stars
Los Angeles
May 7, 2008

I stayed at Rancho Bernardo two years ago and found the resort average at best. I came back in May 2008 and it has significantly changed---for the better! The rooms and spa have been updated (flat screen TV, new furnishings, first class spa and private adult salt water pool). Also, during this trip I managed to walk around the grounds and appreciated the natural and relaxing feel of the resort. If you stay during a weekend, make sure and have their Sunday brunch. It's top notch and the service is great. It's now a legitmate 4 to 4 and 1/2 star resort.

“cool hotel”

Rancho Bernardo Inn

I stayed at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in CA. It was a nice hotel. The room was very spacious and somewhat clean. The bathroom needs some work though. I have some problem sleeping at night because I can hear people closing their door or my top floor neighbor was walking very hard. We stayed at the garden building next to the access road on Bernardo Oak, it was pretty noisy in the morning. The landscaping is outstanding. Everything is very peaceful and calming. A little too pricy, they charged me $10 per day to park my rental car! And I have to pay $10 to use the pool at the spa area, this is rediculous. The pool on their main web page is NOT open for everyone. You can only use it for free if you pay for a spa!! Too much hidden fees!!!

“Peaceful and Relaxing”

Rancho Bernardo Inn

5 of 5 stars
Martinez, CA
Mar 25, 2008

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. The grounds are immaculate and peaceful. The sweet smell of honeysuckle greeted us everytime we opened our front door. The staff works hard to insure that every guest is happy with their stay - excellent customer service. We really liked the fact that this resort is in the the center of a residential neighborhood; we believe this is what makes the resort so peaceful - no hustle and bustle. We went to the Wild Animal Park and San Diego Zoo during our stay. The Wild Animal Park is only 15 minutes away, and the SD Zoo is about 30 minutes away. I would highly recommend this resort if you want to get away from it all and enjoy the sound of silence; there is no night life at this resort - strictly relaxtion, spa and golfing.

    • Liked — The beautiful, well manicured grounds
    • Disliked — The resort fee

“Great service, lovely room”

Rancho Bernardo Inn

5 of 5 stars
Lexington, Mass
Mar 19, 2008

We just spent eight days at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. The room was spacious and quiet. I'm very sensitive to outside noise and this room was solid with a private patio. We were traveling with our three year old son so we needed a room that opened onto grass or someplace where he could run around. Our room was a perfect setting for that.
We ate a lot of dinners and breakfasts in the room. The food was very good and room service was attentive and consistently excellent. The concierge was great and the front desk staff was very friendly.
Just one negative comment, we were surprised to find that the Inn is right in the middle of a suburban neighborhood. From the photos we had the impression that there was more open land around.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Excellent service, pleasant room
    • Disliked — Changing the sheets every night is a complete waste.

“Lovely Facility”

Rancho Bernardo Inn

4 of 5 stars
Washington DC
Feb 25, 2008

I stayed here during a conference for two nights in January. This is a lovely resort, with a series of low-rise buildings spread over a hillside. It was pouring rain for most of the time that we were there, but even in the rain, it was a pleasant place to stay - attractively decorated, good food, nice landscaping and lovely pools.

The one caveat is that this place seems to have no elevators - so anyone who doesn't want to walk a fair amount should think twice.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Comfortable, relaxing, gracious
    • Disliked — It was pouring rain - but they couldn't help that.
