Fabulous. This is a simple and no frills inn (look at the price). But it over delivers in every way.

The room was immaculate. Impecibly clean. The staff very friendly and helpful. Choose a room near the back of the property which is delightfuly quiet.

Review the location as it is not in the center of San Diego, but if you have a car there is nothing to fault this motel.

The staff are VERY accomodating and helpful. Any questions we had they had answers. The pool was very comfortable and we were able to take in our 7 month old baby. David was GREAT. We had questions about places to go to plan for a wedding and he was very helpful. The rooms are good size with a kitchen that made life so easy when you are traveling with an infant. They have totes that have everything that you need to cook. We will definitely stay there again and would easily recommend this hotel to everyone!

We just returned from our trip to San Diego. I booked this hotel because it had great reviews and also great prices. It is located a little ways away from the freeway, in a little older part of town. It was close to a couple grocery stores and eating places.
While the location was the only thing that I didn't love, everything else about this hotel is great. The staff is very kind and friendly. Our rooms were large and the beds were comfy to sleep in. There was always plenty of free parking (other places we've stayed in near San Diego make you pay for parking). The breakfast was wonderful (we usually ended up taking breakfast to our room or over to the pool area to eat).
This is a great place if you are looking for an affordable, quiet stay in San Diego.

My husband and I stayed here the nights before and after our Carnival cruise to Mexico last week. We chose the hotel because we like Best Western, the reviews were good, and the price was right.

Well, the reviews were all correct. The hotel is pretty no-frills, but we felt safe, it was quiet, the hotel was clean, and the staff was nice and accommodating.

The first time we stayed, we took advantage of the continental breakfast provided, which was pretty nice. At that breakfast, we were told we could stay past the 11am checkout if we wanted to, since that was pretty early to leave for the cruise.

Upon our return 5 days later, we wanted to check in early, around 10am. I called to make sure they'd have a room ready that early. They did not have an upper floor room available, as we prefer, but they did have a lower one available for us when we arrived.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable, clean, comfortable place to stay while in town.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid March. Arriving late from a long transatlantic flight into LAX. Easy to find the hotel and the staff were most welcoming. Great to have some coffee on arrival!!
The hotel was busy but just enough parking spaces for all even though they could be tight if you are parked next to one of those "US monster trucks".
The room was on the second floor and was a good size, small bathroom, with basin at the end of the bedroom area. Very clean throughout the stay. I had seen some comments about the "thin walls" and yes it is true. Seem to be some people waking up at 6am having showers! However, two very comfortable Queen beds and one of the best continental breakfasts on our tour of CA which was always topped up with goodies. The kids are now converted to waffles in the morning.
Very nice pool which could have benefitted from having a hot tub, but that is getting picky. The staff were very helpful with ideas on where to go and provided directions. Plenty of leaflets in the lobby and there is a PC with internet access which was very useful.
Not much in terms of restaurants within close walking distance, but a short drive up El Cajon Blvd we found Woodstock's Pizza which became a favourite.
There are plenty of shops within short driving distance to stock up with beers and refreshments and we made good use of the fridge in the room.
I would classify this as an excellent Motel in the suburbs of San Diego. If you are looking for a 5 star Hotel in the city centre with room service, bell boys and all the trimmings of luxury then this will not fit the bill.
It is located close to the main highway so excellent access for trips into Downtown San Diego and the brilliant Zoo. One tip is to park at the Old Town for free and get the Trolley into San Diego where kids travel for free. This trolley route goes onwards to Tijuana and makes for a great day out.
It was also very good starting point for our next stop in Anza-Borrego via the excellent DZ Akins deli which was located just before we joined the highway
Our family of four had a great stay and would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in the San Diego area.
