“Fab!!”

Hotel 57

5 of 5 stars
England
May 16, 2008

I loved this hotel. Our room was huge with 2 massive double beds (the most comfy ever) and a little mini lounge with tv. Good location - walking distance to Bloomingdales & shopping bit.
Very friendly staff. Safes available to use downstairs.

“Amazing stay at Hotel 57”

Hotel 57

May 14, 2008

Firstly we booked our room through Expedia and got a great deal, got it about £200 cheaper than it would have been going through their website so give that a look first.

The style of the hotel is very modern, and all the staff were extremely friendly. We got to the room and was very impressed with the style and design of the room and the bath room. The bath room was very modern (could have done with more storage room though). There was plenty of storage in the room for clothes and bags etc. The view from the north facing room was good, the building opposite cuts the corner off so it lets in more light and better view of the roads.

Perfect location as it is 5 minutes walk from Bloomingdales, H&M, Levis, Diesel and central park to the north of the hotel, and Abercrombie, Armarni, Tiffanys, Nike to the west. The subway is 3 blocks from the hotel, and a maximum of $10 taxi to empire state and Time Square.

would highly recommend this hotel to all couples!

“Not worth the money. Give me a Hampton any day.”

Hotel 57

2 of 5 stars
Charleston, SC
May 13, 2008

I only stayed here for the entire week because it was at government rate, and it would have been an imposition on my colleagues for us all to switch hotels.

The room was comfortable, but the TV channel selection was EXTREMELY limited. No sports channels. No movie channels. I couldn't even watch my home town team in the Stanley Cup conference championship in the hotel bar, because their one and only TV was glued to the NBA.

The bathroom sink drains very, very slowly. Not a maintenance issue, but what they consider to be a classy design feature.

No breakfast included. Give me an Embassy Suites or a Hampton any day. Much better value for your business travel dollars.

No fitness center. They conceded that you could use the gym across the street by showing your room key and forking over $20.

Street entrance didn't look like you were entering a hotel, more like a service entrance off the garage. I wasn't even sure I was at the right place.

Location's not bad, at E. 57th and Lexington. Two blocks from the subway.

When I asked to talk to the manager about my complaints above, the front desk staff just made excuses. They never even tried to connect me to the manager. That's when I decided to use Trip Advisor instead.

“Very nice modern hotel”

Hotel 57

May 13, 2008

I took my mom to NYC for Mother's Day and we had a great time. This hotel is in a great part of the Upper East to Midtown - East side. At night it's rather quiet, a few fire trucks, but still more quiet then Time Square. The hotel was very modern and I would recommend a new restaurant for the hotel a majority of the time it was dead. The staff was nice, minus the girl checking us in didn't really smile or say anything, but everyone else was great. The room was big, the bed was nice (down), and the bathroom was very unique and up-to-date. We had a nice view of 57th St. The hotel was about 3 blocks from 5th Avenue and Central Park. Restaurants are hard to find, especially breakfast foods, but my mom and I love to walk so that wasn't a big deal. My mom is super picky when it comes to where she stays, but she said she would go back and I agree with her.

“Great NYC Hotel”

Hotel 57

May 12, 2008

Great location. Everything is right near the hotel, shops, restaurtants, Central Park, and the Subway. Hotel has a great design feel to it. The rooms are bit on the small side but you are in New York. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
