Stayed there with my girlfriend for 3 nights and we loved this hotel. We are a 27 year old couple and we love modern places. I recommend it for young people because as I read before it's not a functional hotel. Low lights in many places, very small dark elevator, small bathroom vanity space. The concierge (GIOVANNY MENA) was extremely helpful and friendly. The reception staff was very friendly too. I think the food was overpriced. Even with all the cons mentioned before I will stay there again!

Simply my favorite hotel in NY. Everything seems to be right here: Great staff, good design and atmosphere, good location, great bar/ lobby. Good value for money. Spacious rooms with everything you need.

What a great hotel. We wanted to have a girls weekend, so my 3 girlfriends and myself booked a trip to NYC. We used Expedia and got a great deal. The place was super cool. The lobby had a great bar with amazing cocktails. The only problem we had was that we needed 2 beds, and Expedia only booked us a King. The reception girl was very nice, and got her manager who was able to get us the room with two beds. Not only was the manager very nice, but like many people in this hotel he was beyond attractive! Like a younger Leonardo Di Caprio. The room was nice, I have stayed in NYC before and this room was way bigger. They just redid them. The hallways were dark, but not that big of a deal. All in all I would totally come back.

Spent a fantastic four nights in the Royalton on a surprise trip for my wife's birthday.

Used the services of the hotel concierge prior to arrival to make some special arrangements such as a birthday cake to our room etc., they couldn't have been more helpful.

A couple of pointers: -

1. The lighting is dim, but all lights have almost invisible dimmer switches on the side giving more than enough light when fully on!

2. The breakfast vouchers (if purchased) don't make it clear what they cover, but it turns out you can have just about anything from the menu, just ask!!!

The location is excellent, but don't choose this hotel if you are going to complain about the bar prices, it's New York, spend the money and have some fun.
