My wife and I decided to attend the buffet on Easter, never having been there. We have been near there at different times driving around the medical buildings but we had never eaten there. We seen their advertisement in the El Paso Times about their Easter Buffet. We decided to try it so my wife called up and made reservations. Did we make a mistake or what. When we got there at 1:30Pm,there were people standing all around and no one was moving. I later found out that they had no plates on the table, they had run out. The buffet was in the entrance lobby of all places and one long table was set up with a long table cloth on it. They had about ten stainless steel food containers on small legs but that was all. There was nothing under these containers to keep the food hot. They had cold mash potatoes without any gravy. Some of the food items listed on the menu in the paper were not there. The roast beef was cold and terrible. The management of this buffet was a farce. After you picked up all this cold food which had little taste,we had to walk down the hall to their restaurant so we could have a place to sit. We left most of the food on the table as many others did,the only thing decent was the coffee. The dessert area was a joke with small pieces of sliced cake, this was there total dessert selection. My wife and I are senior people and we have been around the track a few times .I would rate this place with a big fat zero. We should have given the $32.00 dollars to some charity.

I recently (August 2002) had the misfortune of staying at the Cliff Inn in El Paso, Texas. While the furnishings in the lobby are lovely, the rooms are terrible. I know this because I kept requesting a different room and actually moved to three different rooms before finding one that was barely adequate. The beds (King) were absolutely the most uncomfortable beds I've ever tried to sleep in. The furnishings in the rooms were delapidated and smelly. The swimming pool was out of order - both the service and the food at the restaurant were terrible - and the only good thing I can say about this hotel at all is that the people who worked there were very nice - too bad they may be out of a job before long if the hotel doesn't make some major improvements.

Although it has been several years since I last was a guest of The Cliff Inn in El Paso, Texas, it is still worth the review. This friendly accomodation is located in an older section of El Paso. The Inn sits on a large cliff overlooking downtown El Paso. Guests should be able to find it with ease whether driving yourself or taking a cab from the airport. The Cliff Inn is odd in that, from the outside, it truly does not make a statement. Its unapposing and rather plain exterior doesn't give away the surprise it has in store for you inside. But.....I will give it away. Upon walking through the Hotel's glass doors, you will be transported to a luxerious, elegant hideaway. The rooms, on the whole, are large, clean and very comfortable. I have had the opportunity to stay at length with this establishment. I lived there for almost a month while searching for my "desert home". The treatment from the staff, I felt to be unsurrpassed. I have stayed on other occassions and also recommend others to stay when they visit El Paso, Texas. I have yet to have any family member or friend come back with a complaint. The hotel boasts a full service restaurant and bar as well as plenty of room for conferences and business meetings. This Inn is appointed with lovely antiques and objects d'arte that lend their timeless elegance to the overall ambience. The hotel also offers most ammenities one expects from a full service hotel. However, what is probably one of the finest qualities of this hotel is its location facing over the ancient city of El Paso and its sister city in Mexico - Ciudad Juarez. During the day, both a large desert cities of international commerce. However, at night, they provide a beautiful light show for all to see. The lights appear to go on forever and are either stopped by large desert mountains or fall off of the edge of the horizon. All of this for a fairly nominal fee. Yes.....that is correct. This hotel is currently and always has been a moderately price establishment.
I could not recommend it more and, of course, when I am in El Paso next, you can bet that is where I can be found.
