When we checked in the woman at the front desk could barely announciate her words to be heard clearly. It was as though she was being bothered by us checking in. We asked questions ans she was rude in that she treated us as if we had three heads. Not until someone from the staff said something to her did she change her attitude and she cracked a smile. Elevator ride to our room was awful. Very jerky and gave you motion sickness. Room was filthy......dirty sock sticking out from under bed. Dust everywhere, peanut shells on the floor.........totally disgusting. The manager sent a cleaning staff up to clean it but it still was not clean by any stretch of the imagination. Valet parking was outrageous!!!!!!!!!!! Breakfast at the courtyard in center was good. Restaurant in hotel was good and the bartenders were friendly. We even saw Jesse Jackson eating breakfast there! I bet his room was cleaner than ours. Would NEVER go back. Gross, Gross, Gross.

I have a family member who is in Hahnemann Hospital and I needed to stay in the city so I can be with them. The hotel was in walking distance to the hospital and many restaurants in the area. The room was very clean and the beds were somewhat comfortable. The hotel seemed to have alot going on - ie conventions. The Terrace restaurant in the lobby I felt was expensive for what you actually got. (Buffet - $17.00 not to much on it!)

This Sheraton is adequate but nothing special.

The Good:
- Nice size room
- Comfortable bed
- Great location
- Wonderful view
- Many hotel amenities including a nicely maintained gym with a raquet-ball court.

The Bad:
- Old televisions in rooms
- Buffet breakfast ($17) is okay, but nothing special
- Room service meal was reasonable (Salmon), but spoiled by somewhat stale buns.
- Housekeeping appears to employ one housekeeper per floor and thus it takes most of the day to have your room cleaned - i.e. my room was cleaned at approx. 2:00pm

The Ugly:
- Shower pressure was non-existent, like rinsing yourself off under a fine mist... very annoying
- Room was not clean on arrival, but was spotless when cleaned for my second night
- Paper-thin walls. I could hear all conversations from the rooms next door.

All in all:
3-stars. Just barely meets the standards for a Sheraton. Reasonable place to stay if you are able to obtain an excellent rate. Many other places to stay if you are being charged a premium.

Would I stay here again:
Very much depends on the rate, but I truly despise a low-powered shower and paper-thin walls, thus not-likely.

We were in town for a convention and when we are within driving distance, we take our dog. The Sheraton had it all-its a great location, walking distance to the convention center, the market, and all of the museums, and the rooms are beautiful, as is the hotel, itself. The staff is friendly and eager to please, especially the concierge. We ate at the hotel one night, Philips Restaurant is a seafood chain from Baltimore, which was several cuts above the usual hotel fare. When you stay in Philadelphia, dont miss The White Dog Cafe, a long cab ride from the hotel but really worth it. Our dog was treated like royalty, and so were we!
