“Nice Airport Hotel”

Hilton Philadelphia Airport

4 of 5 stars
Dunmore, Pennsylvania
Nov 2, 2007

Thanks to my flight being canceled at the last minute and a $370 one way car rental price, I decided to stay near the Philadelphia airport and take my chances to get home the next day.

I've stayed at this property several times before, so it was a no-brainer for me to select it again on this trip.

I called the hotel directly to ask if it could accommodate me around 11:00 at night. Knowing that they could, I waited a short time for the shuttle. The driver was absolutely hysterical with me and the other couple who was on the shuttle. The 4 of us cracked jokes the entire way to the hotel.

As always, I was given a Tastycake at checkin and instead of going to my room, I went to the bar for a cocktail and to get a sandwich to take to my room. I was in my room, having my sandwich by 11:45.

The room was comfortable, as always.

Thankfully, the airline was able to get me home, albeit 14 hours later than scheduled, but my stay at the Hilton Philadelphia Airport was a pleasant respite in my travels.

“Horrible place to stay! Id rather sleep in the airport”

My family and I booked a couple rooms with my cousin for his wedding. I called almost a month prior, to book 2 rooms; one smoking and one non-smoking. We got both NON-smoking, so off the bat that was just stupid! WHY OFFER when they don't have smoking in the hotel!!! Check in was at 3. We arrived at the hotel 2:45pm and did not get in to the room until 3:30pm. After an 8 hour drive being able to get your room and unpack would be IDEAL, but unfortunately our room was NOT cleaned in time, while about 20 other people came in and check right into their rooms with NO PROBLEMS. That was VERY frustrating!!! How are rooms NOT READY in time for check-in? Isn't that the whole point for the previous occupants to leave 3 hours before the next occupants to come in, so that housekeping can actually do their job???
The room was just another room, nothing special. Everyone makes such a big deal about the "HILTON's", too bad the hotels can't live up to their name!
The front desk was the most MISERABLE group of people I have EVER met in my life. Their way of dealing with things is going to the back room and dissappearing for a couple minutes while YOU *the customer* builds up their frustration you almost want to scream.
They have a little cafe that is ONLY open during the week. The bar closes at 1 on a Saturday night *but i guess thats an American thing*. But the one thing that REALLY bothered me was just how MISERABLE EVERYONE IS!
It is absolutely unacceptable to be greeted....wait, we WEREN'T EVEN GREETED! =/
I would NEVER again stay at a Hilton hotel....and that was ALL IT TOOK! Sorry Paris

“Pretty Nasty”

Hilton Philadelphia Airport

Stayed at the Hilton Philly Airport location for one night on business and it was a dump! The floor were dirty. The rooms were circa-1986, the smell was bad and the air conditioner was worse. As a Diamond HH member, they upgraded me to ......a SMOKING ROOM! That's great, except I don't smoke and never have. So at midnight, I marched back to the front desk and had them move me to fourth floor room close to the runway. I just couldn't help but think "bedbugs" all night. Needless to say, it was one of my more disappointing stays with any Hilton property.

“Disappointment at Philadelphia Airport Hilton”

Hilton Philadelphia Airport

1 of 5 stars
Louisville, KY

Our one night stay at the Philadelphia Airport Hilton was a very diappointing way to end our visit to the city over Labor Day weekend 2007.

The front desk staff was quite rude and indifferent from the moment of check-in. The keys we were given failed to work in our room. Once we went back to the desk to get new keys, we discovered that the air conditioner was not functional in the room and had to go back to the front desk to get keys and be moved to another room. Our second room was also somewhat of a nightmare and over the next 2 hours we got to know the hotel maintenance staff on a first-name basis. The lock on this room's door was dying and had to be replaced. The thermostat on this room's air conditioner had been disconnected and had to be reconnected. The internet cable connection was broken and had to be replaced. The room itself offered dated decor and an overly firm, uncomfortable bed.

After two hours of dealing with the above, we went to get an over-priced soda at the machine in the hall; it took our money and gave us no soda in return. The front desk staff sent us out to one of the few nearby restauarants which was in the process of closing early at 9:30pm. They did offer us free breakfast at the hotel the next morning as compensation for our problems. The breakfast bar gave us cold, tough pancakes, dried-up eggs, and a hard-to-find wait staff. We were very happy to get on our plane and head for home.

“Disappointed”

This hotel is not up to Hilton standards. The decor of the hotel is very dated and run down, espicially in the hallways with guest rooms. Service at the front desk was very rude, I felt like I was bothering them when I called to tell them the room they had given me had a clogged shower. I feel they could swap the sign on the hotel with that of Comfort Inn and no one would notice. I was very disappointed.
