We spent our last 2 days & nights on the east coast at the Silverstone and breathed a sigh of relief upon arriving there...to find it was absolutely beautiful!!! The innkeeper Yolanta greeted us warmly and we found her to be very charming, helpful and friendly.
The room we stayed in was airy and spacious and decorated simply and beautifully. It was very clean and well kept. The staff was most enjoyable and friendly. The breakffast offered was Wonderful and the coffee was Great!!!
It was nice to stay at a location where restaurants, shops and novelty stores were within walking distance and being such, it was nice to see some of the other fabulous architecture in the area.
We were very pleased with the accomodations there and very much enjoyed it!
If we ever return to the east coast again, we would love to stay at the Silverstone and would highly recommend it to others.
Thank you Yolanta and all for a pleasurable and most memorable stay in Philadelphia!!!!
Sincerely,
Susan & Phil from Washington State

We stayed at Silverstone B & B for the last 4 nights of our 2 week trip along the east coast. We couldn't have asked for a nicer finish to our vacation. Silverstone is a beautiful and lovingly restored old mansion with large, comfortable rooms. The decoration is in keeping with the house i. e. the rooms are equipped with period furniture. The matresses are very comfortable, the bed linen and towels immaculate and the bathrooms equipped with modern appliances. The whole house is very clean and well kept up even though it is over a hundred years old. The innkeeper, Yolanta, goes out of her way to make visitors welcome, breakfast is sumptuous and served until quite late so there is no need to rush in the mornings. The whole atmosphere at the house is relaxed and cosy. The house is very solidly built so guests don't disturb each other once in their rooms - unlike in many wooden structures we spent the nights in during our trip.
Altogether it is a total gem and that at very reasonnable prices, too.
We will most definitely be back!

“Cute, good value but a little weird”

I found this place a little uncomfortable and slightly unnerving because it really felt like you were living in someone's home even though only the care taker lives on site. The room was cute but it was full of old books and odd bits & pieces that made me feel like I was sleeping in a grandmother's bedroom! The kitchen was well equipped with old time crockery and utencils for us to cook dinner and breakfast and they provided eggs, juice, bacon, bread etc.

The care taker leaves the doors unlocked during the day which didn't impress me much especially when our rooms didn't have locks either!
The B&B is a short walk from the train station but there isn't much of a footpath so we carted our luggage through a bit of mud. A good thing though is the place has a very small luggage elevator so we didn't have to drag our luggage up 3 flights of stairs.

The Chestnut hill area is very close and the train into the city takes 30 minutes. The owner was very nice but elderly so she did take her time with service.
