We booked this hotel on priceline and got a good rate ($79).I would not pay any more than that for this hotel. The lobby of the hotel is fairly nice, but the room felt outdated and dingy, and was next to the elevator. When we asked to move we were told that our rate was only for a queen bed room next to the elevator; this was the first we heard of this. The desk staff was not knowledgeable about the area and was unable to assist us with anything more than basic directions to the Inner Harbor area. Some of the doormen tried to help but were not much more knowledgable. The bathroom was a disappointment as well; small and not updated at all. We were told that there was wireless internet in the lobby and deli area but were unable to connect, and there was noone to assist with this either. In addition, the area in which the hotel was located did not feel very safe; we learned on our last morning there that someone was stabbed 2 blocks from the hotel the night before.

I am certainly disappointed to read your comments about the Tremont Plaza. Many of your comments go very much against the tide of comments we've received throughout the spring and summer about how strong our guest service skills are. As far as the room type you booked, the rooms reserved on websites such as Priceline and Hotwire are Studio Suites with 1 Queen Bed. The location can be anywhere between the 6th and 37th floor, and those third-party sites do not promise guests any special requests. The Front Desk staff works hard to ensure that every request can be met, but your stay coincided with the Red Sox' only 2008 weekend visit to Camden Yards, and we were sold out and therefore limited in flexibility.
I personally tested all of our Bellstaff and Front Desk staff this week after reading your comments, and all know far more about downtown Baltimore restaurants, attractions, and directions than I would have expected. Would you mind sharing more details about your experience with me offline? I would like to know what staff members were unable to provide the routine assistance you describe in your review.
As far as the condition of the guestroom and bathroom, as mentioned previously on TripAdvisor, we are planning a multi-million dollar renovation for the end of 2008 into 2009 to address these concerns.
