My husband and I went to Savannah for a romantic weekend. We had dinner at Chart House Restaurant which has wonderful views of the Savannah River. I made reservations online the previous day, and although they were not very busy, the reservation allowed us to have a table with a wonderful view. The appetizer and entrees were very good, and the service was top notch. But what made this the best restaurant was the dessert. When you order your food, the waiter will mention that they have a chocolate melting cake for dessert that has a 30 minute preparation time. The melting cake is fabulous. The cake is still warm from the oven (not the warmer or microwave)and it truly melted in your mouth. Since it was more than enough for us to split and delicious, I would reccommend to all (even if you have to skip salad or the appetizer.)

We wanted a nice restaurant close to the Hilton Garden Inn - it was way too hot to walk anywhere!! Mary the Concierge suggested the Chart House, it was only 2 blocks away. We arrived with no reservation and were seated upstairs immediately. Good service, excellent food! A little more expensive that some in Savannah, but worth it!!

We are from Atlanta and made reservations on [--]. When we arrived we were seated promptly on the patio as requested. Our server was so nice and friendly. We had wonderful drinks and the crab cake was excellent. Dinner was also great, but the ambiance was the best part of the night. The only problem that we had were the mosquitoes. I was being eaten alive, so we asked to move indoors for dessert. That was when our server said that they had OFF bug repellent just for that reason. It would have been nice if she had mentioned it when we sat down, but oh well.
Over all it was a great dinner, River Street is really an interesting place!

Chose this restaurant after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. It should be ranked higher! Made the reservation through opentable.com, very easy. Food was delicious, waitress was personable. We were celebrating a birthday, and she even gave us a free dessert (we didn't want the song and dance routine). Great wine list, and menu had so many choices we had trouble choosing. Would absolutely go back - great location, too!
