I found out the internet rate but we were on the road and didn't know for sure where we would end up, so I waited to make reservations. Before arriving, I called Triprewards because they will give you the internet rate over the phone and it is usually better than walk in. I was on hold forever on my cell phone, so we decided to go on in instead of waiting on phone. I was quoted a higher rate so I asked "Michelle" if there was a public phone in lobby so I could call Triprewards back, and she said, "Isn't that trying to beat the system?" I looked at her stunned while she said, "If you do it, you can use your own phone, not ours!" I then got her name and left without an incident. I have since requested an apology, never received it and gave word that I would report my experience. Travelodge and Triprewards are very much affiliated and I was not "trying to beat the system," just get the best honest rate publicly available which is what everyone should do.
