I stayed here for 3 nights from 3/24-3/27 for a conference. The hotel is in a very good location, squarely situated in the French Quarter. It is one block West of Bourbon Street, and 1 block North of Canal Street. Jackson Square and Harrah's Casino are approximately
5-10 minute walks away, and the conference center is about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. Two Sisters Restaurant, Pat O'Briens, Brennan's, and Broussard's are all within a 5 mintue walk from the hotel.
This hotel is for 2 types of people. Young couples/singles without children, who are interested in partying in the French Quarter, or individuals attending the conference center. Others should really consider looking elsewhere. I arrived at 3, and was told that I couldn't check in until 4, so I had to go to the gym (see below) to change, and then leave my stuff at the front desk.
The hotel has a very worn feel about it. The carpetes, furniture, upholestery, all appear quite used. The exercise facility on the tenth floor( a small pool with greenish appearing water, 1 functional
treadmill, 2 bicycles, was substandard for a Holiday Inn.
The rooms are very average, although the mattress was comfortable. The AC worked well. The bathroom did not have a fan, and got quite humid. The elevators are slow at times.
All things considered, I was disappointed, especially given what we paid; However, given that I was rarely in the room, it served its purpose.
