“Really Enjoyed the Maison St Charles!”

Stayed at the Maison St Charles 4/20 - 4/25 and had a nice time. Hotel is very homey and the staff was FANTASTIC! Valerie at the front desk and a gentleman who helped with luggage & taxies- sorry I forgot his name - were so helpful and extremely kind. Will definitely stay again.

Keep in mind that because this is an older hotel, there is no elevator. There are only two floors but carrying luggage up two floors was a treat at midnight! Two french women own 75% of the hotel with the other 25% being recently purchased by Quality Inn who is putting $2 million of updates into the property.

Eat at "Slice" which is two blocks from the hotel on the same side of the street. FANTASTIC food. It is a pizzaria/bistro with a lot more than just pizza. Everything we tried from their salads, desserts and pizza were fantastic. The service was outstanding. Their professional chef makes great 4 course meals to include wine. Best value and food in the area.

Loved the Garden District and the wonderful people!

We stayed at the Maison St. Charles for four nights in April 08 for Spring Break. I can't believe what a great price I received for what I got. The room was perfect for this price range. The bed was very comfy and soft sheets. I was shocked the first morning to find that continental breakfast was included. It was an impressing spread with good coffee, muffins, bagels w/ cream cheese, croissants, cereal, etc.
I woud defenitely stay here again!

“Delightful, affordable hotel”

The Maison St. Charles is a delightful, affordable hotel in the Garden District in New Orleans. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable with free wireless internet. I loved the pool and spa, and the continental breakfast was substantial with surprisingly healthy options (New Orleans is not known for its health food). The hotel service was great, I was always easily accommodated no matter what I needed. There is a street car line basically at the hotel's front door and it will take you to the French Quarter, but I preferred the 20-minute walk. I have no complaints about the Maison St. Charles, and I highly recommend it to those traveling to New Orleans for business or pleasure.

“Great stay!!”

Great price, clean room, visible security, great location, quiet, friendly & helpful staff. I liked coming home at night and stopping in the lobby for a cup of tea!

Just can't beat the streetcar & bus stops across the street. So easy to hop on the streetcar & get dropped of right at Canal & Bourbon! Get the visitor's pass to jump on & off the streetcar, I had a great time doing this. Took the streetcar down to the Garden District, jumped off at Audobon Park, took a nice stroll, back on the streetcar to the end where there was a really nice little cafe Le Madeleines, fresh pastries, tea. then back on the streetcar!

3 blocks down, super restaurant, Zea! Give it a try. I was in town just a short time before/after cruise, but can't wait to go back! New Orleans is so beautiful and very easy to get around! Between walking & the convenient public transportation, no cars needed!

As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe & secure at the Maison St. Charles, and actually the whole time I was in New Orleans!

“Loved It!”

Stayed here 3/15 for one night prior to departing on a cruise. I had a really hard time finding hotels under $200 since it was Spring Break. I luckily found this one, and paid $112 with tax, plus $14/night for parking.

The hotel is on St. Charles, the trolley stops right in front of hotel. Emeril's Delmonico steak house is directly across the street. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel is completely gated, had 2 security guards on duty. Nice courtyard, numerous people hanging out---quietly! drinking and talking. I never felt unsafe, even walking at night to eat.

The room was your usual mid price hotel room, clean, with comfy beds. I had no problems with the room. We had second floor. There are 3 levels, with elevators.

Went down just to view the free cont. breakfast, and it was very lacking. Basically fruit, muffins, and toast. But we were eating at Cafe Dumond, so it did not affect us.

I would definately stay here again, and would recommend to others. Again, average hotel, not the Hilton. Very quaint, cute buildings, with nice pool area.
