It's not the best hotel in New Orleans ,but for the price you will not find nothing nicer. For around $100 ,you will not beat it.It's our third time staying here in the last 4 months. It is close to the Superdome, and the Arena. The French Quarter ,and Harrahs, are about a half mile walk or a $8 cab ride.Drury Inn has breakfast included and evening cocktails. They also have a pool and hot tub.If you want to go cheap do not look any further.

“WONDERFUL hotel experience!”

My husband is a HUGE NO Saints fan - this hotel was great for our stay. There were so many free extras: internet, microwave, fridge, breakfast - but the happy hour was the nicest. This hotel is in an excellent location, not far from the French Quarter, the pier, and the Superdome! The staff was more than friendly! We will stay here again!

“Great place to stay!”

Drury Inn & Suites New Orleans

I just returned from a stay at the Drury Inn. I was in New Orleans for a conference, and because the conference hotel was quite expensive, I booked a room at the Drury Inn just down the road. It was a very pleasant walk down to the river to the conference, Harrah's casino, and the Riverwalk - only about a half mile and really a nice walk. This location was perfect for visiting the French Quarter and Bourbon St - just a few blocks down Carondelet St from the hotel! You can't beat that especially for this price.
My flight arrived in the morning, so when I got to the hotel around 11 am (I took the Airport Shuttle, by the way - $30 for roundtrip) I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be able to get into a room. I had booked a king room which they didn't have ready, but they did have a double room available, so I took that.
The room was large with high ceilings and very clean, which is always most important to me. The room included two double beds, a desk with desk chair, a recliner, a tv, table, microwave, and fridge! The bathroom was quite large as well. The best thing - free internet in the rooms! I wish more hotels offered this. There's also a computer in the lobby with a printer, which is really handy for printing boarding passes, etc.
All the extras at the Drury Inn are really what makes this hotel. I already mentioned the free internet. The free breakfast was also really good - waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, biscuits and gravy, french toast, cereal, and more! And the food was really good. The nightly reception with free drinks (alcoholic -3 per person each night- and non - unlimited) and snacks (chips, salsa, and cheese dip) was also really nice. It's amazing that the Drury offers so many free extras, when the room rates are already so low!
There was only one small piece of my stay that was less than perfect. When I got to my room, the toilet was stopped up. I stopped at the front desk on my way out and asked them to have someone fix it (there wasn't a plunger in the room or I'd have done it myself). The woman said she'd take care of it. When I returned a few hours later, it still wasn't fixed. So I called the front desk again. About an hour and a half later, a maintenance guy finally showed up to fix it. The man was very kind and apologetic. But I shouldn't have had to wait 7 hours to use the toilet in my room.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The lobby and room were very nice, but it's the location and all the extras that will bring me back to the Drury Inn. I'll definitely stay here on my next trip to New Orleans!

“Not bad”

Drury Inn & Suites New Orleans

I stayed at the Drury Inn for four nights in early January. This was the weekend of the national football championship final between Iowa and LSU, and the hotel seemed to be full of people that had come to New Orleans for the game.

My room was spacious, clean, and nice and I had free wireless access to the internet. The service was good. I wasn't too happy with the breakfast, although there was a selection of different foods, coffee, pops, etc. available. Considering the price range, I was quite happy with the hotel and wouldn't mind staying there again.

Our standard room with two beds was spacious with high ceilings and two windows with a great view looking out over St Charles trolley with city and lighted bridge in background. There was a comfortable lounge chair, good lighting and roomy desk with an adjustable chair - perfect for my laptop and their free wireless internet. Also an hour of free long distance every night. The free hot breakfast, my husband thought one of the best breakfasts ever. Delicious scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy, rolls, even raisin bread toast along with bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, cocoa and fruit drinks. Oh yes, there were free snacks and drinks from 5:30PM to 7 PM as well. Our room was spotlessly clean and- though we were right near the elevator -very quiet. Every staff person we met was courteous and helpful. We loved the location - on the edge of the french quarter. We'd have a big breakfast; plan to skip lunch; and spend the better part of the day wandering through the french quarter, then have an early dinner - no trouble with reservations.
Area is well-lighted, trolley also stops right in front, but we felt safe walking. Best dinner was a couple blocks away at Herbsaint, which we also got from TripAdvisor, maybe #4 on popularity index. Wonderful neighborhood bistro with great food and super service. This was our first time back since Katrina and we are eager to return. We'll definitely stay at Drury Inn.
