This is the one place to eat we go to every time we go to New Orleans. While the gumbo and po'boys are good, boiled crawfish are great --- we try to sit at the well worn oyster bar and watch the shuckers at work - order a dozen of 'em and a Dixie or Abita beer- squeeze of lemon, pinch of horseradish and a dollop of Tabasco over the ice cold oysters --- doesn't get much better!!!!!!

Although we only visited Acme once on our visit we had our share of oysters. They were very fresh and very yummy. I also tried the gumbo, it was very good however, it needed a little spicing up. The local beer on tap was an ice cold treat.

Classic bar type restaurant in the French Quarter. Had the fried oyesters and shrimp. Great food at a great price. Has some local beer on tap as well. Neat feature - has Cajun sushi on the menu. Something different that sets it apart. Expect your bar type atmosphere.

We visited New Orleans during the week of 5/18-5/21 and ate at Acme twice! The best shrimp po'boy sandwich I've ever had, the shrimp had a light and crispy crunch...the oysters were fresh, cold, HUGE, and very tasty! We ate their for our first meal because of a recommendation, and ate our last meal their because it was so good. A pitcher of beer, dozen oysters, and a shrimp po'boy....doesn't get better than this!

“Very very good for what it is supposed to be”

Acme Oyster & Seafood House

These are the best oysters I have ever had, bar none. Plumb, tender, cold. Cocktail sauce is definitely kickin it wth horseradish, but not over the top, still a little room for some Tabasco, if you like it. Nice cold beer, too.

They have this down to a science, only offering what can be done well and quickly (we like the shrimp and oyster po' boys). We waited until 1:30 to go and waited about 15 minutes for a table. We had paid up within 40 minutes. Servers were very nice.

I thought fried foods in general in NO could be spiced up. They seem to not even have salt/pepper much less some Creole seasonings we craved.

The pecan pie comes out crazy hot, so don't rush yourself!
