“Great Location - Terrible Hotel”

Blood stains on the comforter. Cigarette burns on the sheets. Unidentifiable stains on pillow cases. Dead cockroaches under bed. Very uncooperative management. That's just for starters. Their website is VERY misleading. Rooms looked to be ROOMY on the site. But when we arrived - they are very small. And look NOTHING like the pictures.

We'd leave for the day in the morning, then arrive back at the hotel around 5pm, only to find that our room hadn't been cleaned. (new towels - bed made). The bed linen was disgusting. When we asked for a replacement blanket - the other one was WORSE!

Yeah, It's kinda quaint in an old run-down and dangerous kind of way because of the collapsing balcony and staircase, and yeah, it's in a great location in the French Quarter, but man oh man, do these people not care about providing decent, and clean linen for the rooms. They had brand new flat screen TVs put in prior to us arriving, but with no remote. They seem put out when we asked for one. Got one. A brand new one Still in the box. We had to program the damn thing for it to work with the TV in the room.

It was a roof over our head - we got some free danishes and coffee - and we got to watch "Wizard Of Oz". Other than that, it wasn't a pleasant experience. I will not be staying there again.

We started out with problems over reservations, it all went downhill from there. Management was very disagreeable. The room we were given was tiny. A corner room on the second story around 8ft. by 10 ft. (if that large) with a double bed and one small armoire not large enough to store anything in and only with those two pieces of furniture there was very little room to move around the bed. The balcony and stairs were in such a state of disrepair I was afraid to walk on them.

“Very Run-Down”

Okay when I booked this room my expectations were very low. I mean come on at this price the hotel can't be very good. It managed to disappoint me even with my low expectations. I had a balcony room facing the street. The room had a bed, a night stand big enough for a lamp and a chest. That's it. Not one chair. The phone was under the bed. The tv's are lcd which is nice but they are small and the was NO remote. The power also went out several times a day because the hotel could not handle all of the power needs. Try and avoid this hotel if you can.

“Huge disappointment”

We rented a 2BR suite for 4 of us Jazz Fest weekend. The space was large w/ 3 good-sized beds, but other than that the place looked like it was decorated with furniture from someone's garage. There was a small, broken couch and 2 armchairs, a small coffee table, a desk with broken drawer and that's it. And the floors were so filthy we couldn't walk barefoot without turning our feet black. When this was pointed out to mgmt, the cleaning crew came in and bleached the place so much we could feel our eyes burning. And the floors were still filthy under the bleach! Afraid to complain again, we just stuck it out, but if it hadn't been jazz fest, we would've looked hard for a different place to stay.

“Good location, good price”

My husband and I traveled to New Orleans for Jazz Fest and stayed from April 26 through the 29. This was my 5th trip to New Orleans, and my husband's 3rd. It was my first time staying in the French Quarter and to Jazz Fest.

We stayed at St. Peter House, which is on the corner of St. Peter and Burgundy in the French Quarter. The architecture and personality of the building made you feel like you were staying in New Orelans. It was a great location - walking distance to everything. It was a few blocks up from Bourbon Street, but the noise and the smell were undetectable ;).

I had booked us a double room - just one double bed, because it was much cheaper. Much to my surprise, our room not only had a king size bed, but a sitting room as well! It was huge (I'd estimate nearly 600 square feet)! My husband and I are pretty laid back about a hotel if it is on the cheaper end, but there were some things to take note of if high quality is a priority of yours. They did not change our sheets everyday, but changed our towels. The floors were tile, not carpeted, and there were no rugs, so I wore my socks all the time in the room (which became quite dirty on the bottom). We had trouble every time we tried to lock and unlock our door because it was a traditional key lock and I believe the lock was old. There was no shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, or anything of that sort. It was basically a good place to crash at the end of the night and to be able to pop into during the day.
